Your skill set and and attention to detail is quite impressive!! The pride you take in your craft shows in the final product. The truck sits wonderfully, the sheet metal (doors, fenders, bed etc) is smooth af and the paint looks gorgeous (depth and clarity of the finish is awesome). Also- you do a great job summarizing your build - speaking clearly, not rambling on, and you definitely captivate your audience. Keep up the great work! Continued success to you!!

Damn gorgeous truck! I had an '04 with the 2.7l and sold it at 280,000 miles. All it needed was the fuel pump replaced. It's still on the road. If I could've afforded to keep it I would've loved to diesel swap it. Great job.

I'm not surprised. I spent 20 grand in 2016 to build my 1993 xtra cab with a 5VZ-FE swap. Truck already had the lift, good original paint and interior, so cost was mostly for drivetrain. If you factor your labor at the same as materials, plus markup, you would need to get 35k for this truck. Still a good deal when i see what good used Tacoma and Tundra are going for. Unreal what people are asking for all beat up and used up Toyota's on Craigslist.

Very inspiring! If there was a love or heart button I would use it instead of thumbs up. I'm new to the Tacoma and it's been an interesting journey so far with frame rust issue in particular. First purchased a 2nd Gen ended up with frame rot, so returned it to dealer. I purchased a 1st Gen from private owner I paid way too much for and I am intimidated by the amount of work I need to put into it to be honest. This channel is making me feel better about the potential of my Tacoma. Thanks!

I have considered a similar build on a 4runner. A few questions, what type mpg are you getting with the diesel? What was your hp and torque after tuning? What other diesel engines did you consider such as the Cummins R2.8. Last, do you carry replacement insurance in case of an accident and insurance won't pay for all the upgrades? Love the truck. I have it's big brother, 1st gen green Tundra.

Ha, I think I went the wrong direction with my mTDI ALH swap (on my channel if you want to see). I have as much in the injection pump alone as you do in the whole engine and tune. But yeah that price is about par for the course. I have about $15k into my samurai. TDI swap, bigger trans, custom built doubler, custom driveshafts, custom injection pump, adapter kit, lockers, chromoly axle shafts, wheels and tires, bumpers, winch, springs, high steer, steering box upgrade, clutch, exhaust....... pretty much everything you've done except the paint. and next week I'm buying some used toyota axles with air lockers for it. All in all though, that is one badass build Austin. Super clean, and should be dead reliable.
