Yeah, we never see Paco again. He was actually a show addition specifically put in there to make Joe a little bit more likeable... His character did not exist in the books.

Joe can't love anybody, he just becomes obsessed and mistakes it for love. That's why when he had to kill Beck he was able to do it, and he wasn't all broken up about it afterwards. Been there myself. Well not the killing them part. But I have a personality disorder and I've been obsessed with people and thought I loved them, but when the relationships ended I automatically devalued them as a defense mechanism. I just stopped caring. It's not something I CHOOSE to do, it just happens. I usually have 1 big mental breakdown over losing them and then I'm chillin after that. Unless the relationship was super toxic, then it takes longer to heal from all that they've done to me, but I still don't "love" the person anymore.

Penn Badgley is so good at doing the inner monologue. He is an amazing actor, you are so conflicted watching the show. You want to root for him even though you know he's this horrible person. The show makes you like him or be on his side because we're watching it from his point of view. Can't wait for you guys to see seasons 2 and 3, the show just gets better and better. I also really liked four even though I know some people didn't.

About Candice being alive, i understand why Nathan thought when Joe said "i’d never kill someone i love" that it was a hint from the writers but it’s actually not. Joe is completely unhinged so that makes him an unreliable narrator that’s why we find ourselves rooting for him bc he’s telling the story from his perspective. So you guys should take what joe says very lightly and not believe everything that comes out of his mouth bc he’s sometimes does the opposite of what he says to us (the viewers)
