It is like a blow to the stomach when I watch things like this. The nostalgia is so powerful. It makes me think that having digital memories is not good for some humans if they regret the mistakes they made during life. At least our ancestors only had Selective memories and words in books. We can literally confirm how much better life was by watching it on a screen.

The supposed treat for us was at the end of term when they rolled out the same TV and put on Star Wars or Ghost Busters as a treat instead of the usual interlude music and Schools TV. The kid who was asked to roll out was usually the Teachers favorite pet of that term . in my School they always put the scary public safety films on in the main assembly hall , so all the kids in the school could be scared into caution. In unison .

I remember as a kid thinking Cosmo and Dibs’ market was the same as Del Boy’s in Only Fools and Horses!
@davidanderson163910 ай бұрын
You’re not too far off actually. The market was based on Shepherd’s Bush Market. The first series of twenty programmes was begun at the BBC's Lime Grove Studios, part of which overlooked Shepherd's Bush Market. It was completed at BBC Television Centre in Wood Lane, which became the show's regular home for all but the last series. Additional puppet characters joined Cosmo and Dibs for the final two seasons, and the street market disappeared in favour of a brightly coloured domestic setting.

Michael (Mr B.) Balfour was only a presenter in around 1984 but I'm sure his episodes were being repeated later. I also saw Mike Grady (Ken in Citizen Smith/Barry in Last of The Summer Wine) in the credits, I can remember him well as a presenter. I watched You and Me until 1987 when I decided I was too old.
