This feels like a video made for old people. Social media isnt affecting our attention like you think. Our attention has been very short throughout history and normally you wont remember 50% of what u saw 2 days previously.

The Internet is a net positive gain to society but it is definitely without it's faults I think we can agree.

Hey thanks man, cool video. One of the big reasons why I find it's harder talking to peers here in New Zealand, as opposed to where I come from in South Africa, is due to more people using phones and social media.

Thanks for the video, Michael, strange facts but fully based on the stats, and with information overload, critical thinking suffers, IQ is declining, attention spans to 8 secs these days, are we all became like Gold Fishes now? :)

People these days are spending so much time on their phones that they don't interact with each other any more . Just look around when you travel on a train or bus. Majority of people are looking at their phone!

What a cringe video. I've been learning so much through the Internet and have never felt more fulfilled and more of a person than now.

The Internet is great I've learnt a bunch too but for the most part it has caused a lot of problems for a lot of people.

@@MRbookworm really? i think the problems are only shows on the internet. the truth are you dont seem to know what problems are. problems are mental and physical health. and the internet has simply been used as escapist coping for mental health. Do not conflate that with the mental and physical health that the internet has shown us exists worldwide, it wasnt the internet that started it, it was always there and revealed through the internet. I think the news on the internet is not a lot of useful things. but actually hearing/seeing the news without commentary shows that there is a lot of bad things happening with our money worldwide and we need to prevent it., this is awareness of physical health that has been echoed through the creation and widespread use of the internet. These are all negative aspects of life not created but revealed through the internet. And we need to live with this truth, because the truth is always more powerful than any lie could be.

Nah bro, you're not right in all cases, your IQ isn't effected by your books reading habits, high IQ is about better logical thinking and quick problem solving, reading books will only improve your linguistic intelligence, critical thinking, and even sometimes EQ, the main use of books from the earliest ages of humanity was to transform knowledge from one generation to another, not to increase IQ
