I think this and the Leo Shredder 2pk, could have something to do with keeping the licence for movie TMNT. They haven't got anything new planned and may need certain amount if products at retail to keep the licence. This is one version of TMNT no one else is doing right now.

This release is hilarious. They included re-used goalie mits from the Phantom Casey...and they included the dangle mask accessory with a Casey...that has no unmasked head or golf caddy to hang the mask from LOL At least with the Rooftop Battle 2-Pack, one gets another shot at a Turtle, this time with a new beaten/bruised deco and Leo's new bonus movie 1 head from the Movie 3 VHS box. There's a legit 4th Casey to be made (Foot disguise) and a legit alt. t-shirt Danny to pack him with if they want a more honest cash-grab.

My best guess is that the 90's movie turtle line was selling really well and they wanted to come up with another set to make more cash. Same thing with the Leo and Shredder 2 pack. Leo is the same except for a new head mold. I don't have a problem with them creating new sets, even if they were't in the movie but give us something more original than throwing together sets of old molds in new boxes.

Definitely a cash grab, but I think Neca knows that this will sit and end up on clearance at Walmart. Walmart doesn’t care if Casey comes with the golf bag, they still placed their order… The fans will end up winning in end when this goes on clearance for $25 bucks! Not to break the kayfabe, but this review got me to dig out my Comic Book Adaptation of the first film which famously animated a bunch of the scenes that were cut from the final theatrical release and am unhappy to report that there isn't even justification in those hollowed 60+ pages. Best I can guess is this was inspired by the fact that Casey Jones was given a Motorcycle in the 2003 animated series adaptation of "Me, Myself, and I" which was also heavily adapted for the Casey Jones/Raph fight in the 1990 film and if NECA is actually going to start experimenting with What If releases for the movie line this was a cheap and easy first attempt...

So in the TMNT 2003 series, when Raph and Casey meet they have a motorcycle chase. Since both the 1990 movie and the 2002 series both follow the comics very closely, I could only assume this also happened in the original Mirage comics. (Too lazy to check.)

I'll tell you the truth, if the set came with an unmasked Casey head, I might have gotten it. The only movie Casey I have is the one that came with undercover Raph...couldn't bring myself to buy another just for a head. And the dirt bike not even being from the movies is kind of a cop out anyway, lol. Overall fun set for somebody who still needs a Casey, though.
