880 i better in my opinion, auto is only good if you fly into a room with 5 ppl in it. And even then you can just shoulder peak and pick them off! I use it alot on Paik with smokes, its a really nasty combo

I personally think the 880 is better for multi targets if you manage your cover. The auto makes you win almost every 1v1 though whether you wiff or not lol. For canceling reload you can also just tap T or whatever your plus system button is also. Faster than the double weapon swap b(^-^)J

Hey Stod I started using this shotgun but it's nothing like the one you use, I play on old gen PS4 (yes I am poor) and this MCS 880 have a much smaller dispersion and I don't think you can get a one shot with it to an enemy at 100 HP in Breackthrough Mode, no Portal or anything. I belive this could be some bug or something that is only happening in old gen or something like that idk DICE PLS

"If you're looking for maximum accuracy" you stop moving and or crouch. If you don't care (Or you're behind a bunch of dudes) you don't really have to do that. I think the penalty is input based as well so you can technicslly release your input before you fire and it'll gain the immediate accuracy. He does that alot with sniper rifles, stands still for like half a second and fires in that gap

To be entirely fair...DICE does some goofy shit with their mechanics. Decent chance that they don't count jumping as "moving" in the same way that running is. Keep in mind these are the same people that say kneeling somehow effects pellet spread in a shotgun.

I mean, in COD your sniper rifles fire at fucking 60 degrees away from where you're pointing but if you crouch and stop moving, you can fairly reliably no scope Jumping not counting as movement is a bit weirder tho, most games make your spread awful when you jump

Shotguns on the other hand, crouching does LITERALLY nothing to your projectile spread, its physically impossible for your posture to effect. Instead of putting in say...exchangeable chokes (you know...the thing that actually changes your pellet spread) they just rolled their faces on the keyboard and we got "HURRDURR CROUCH FOR TIGHTER PELLET SPREAD HURRR"

Crouching is a more stable platform but the gun doesn't change at all, the on screen sway or position remains exactly the same, it's just like crouching made the gun remember it's a rifled weapon and not a smoothbore POS. When I say 60 degree bullets I mean you can center screen a guy, pull the trigger, And nail the neighbours dog for no reason. Bullet just flies off where ever it wants Game mechanics are always weird on gun handling regardless, but battlefield and other Games aren't really any different, Crouching affects other Games pellets too and hell, there's the very common choking mechanic where aiming tightens spread too for some reason BF ain't really that strange. I think the only game that has semi sensible shotgun mechanics is Apex atm. Aimed or hipfired the spread is the same on most if not all the shotties

I don’t think the shotgun is broken, the only reason more people are not using is because the maps are so massive and with little spaces for cqc combat, that using a shotgun is practically worthless unless you stay on the place where cqc is viable, so I think the shotgun is fine. Tho it would be better if it had the reload cancel of bf3/4, and even then it still wouldn’t be OP

You're countering the movement/strafe to the left. *Edit: it works the same on a controller. If you're strafing left, see a person, tap right then shoot. The timing can take some practice, but BF isn't too punishing.

I think my biggest disappointment with this shotgun is that the slug round doesn't really have any increased range. Was really hoping to put a suppressor on this and use the slug rounds for some easy kills in some mid-range fights, but it just didn't work out.

The flags on breakthrough really need looking at. The fact that 3 out of the 6 maps have flags on top of highrise buildings is just ridiculous. I didn't even know D1 on Orbital was on the rocket, that's how many times I've made it to D1 after fighting for C on top of the tower...

I don't know about the other times, but this time when your grapple stopped mid-animation it looked almost like it was attached to the safety railing and when the vehicle destroyed the railing, your grapple went with it. Not 100% sure but that's what it looked like on my side which would make perfect sense. I don't use Mackay a whole lot though, so I've never run into a bug where explosives stop you.

Sadly, on PS4 the 880 shotgun is bugged and me and my friends reddit posts about it have been down voted for some reason. Anyways on PS4 it is impossible to one shot anyone with any type of ammo with the 880 mcs; even at point blank range the first shot will only do 20 damage and we have tested this extensively.

Did you test the Shotgun against real human multi-players? or only against BOTS AI? cause I have tested it against BOTS/AI and confirm it absolutely does not one shot any enemy at full health no matter what type of ammo type is used. On PS4 version.

@@rebranded1248 yep, we've tested it against both AI and players and it's the same issue, from what I can tell its a PS4 specific problem, and that's very strange that it's persisted through multiple patches. Ive been one shotted multiple times by Xbox players lol. feels bad man.

It's probably the least skillful weapon in the game actually. You point and click once, you don't have to aim 90% of the time, it 1 shots in close range and 2/3 shots up to 100m with almost no spread on it.

Have you noticed how broken the laser attachment is? When attached if sometimes is visible and sometimes not. Also when visible the laser isn’t even coming from the weapon. Its just suspended near any weapon and doesn’t move smoothly. I don’t know if it’s bugged or just an unfinished attachment.

in like a whole round of Conquest theres probably 1-5 situations where you can use a shotgun. you get easy outplayed by any rifle in the game.

You can 2-3 shot someone hipfiring at someone around 120m away, the shotgun has very little spread even with buckshot. Use some smoke nades and ammo crate and you have plenty of concealment to push objectives.

It's good, but I would not call it "broken" with the current state of smgs. If you miss that one shot kill, you're usually dead. If you shoot around the time before you die in a firefight, the shot wont count. To be fair, that could be a latency thing or a 128 player breakthrough thing... That's a pretty hefty trade though when you are giving up consistency for burst damage. Everybody and their grandmother's running around with the MP9/k30 50 round mag. Getting caught in a Reload animation is a death sentence, and you always want to stay topped off which can feel awkward. Is fun to use though! I was sad to see that the slug rounds are nowhere near as good as they were in Battlefield 3. I'm also shocked at how far you can reach out and touch someone with standard buckshot if you stop and crouch for a split second.

To close quarters is better to use SMG and shotguns. If you played BF4 the campaign. Mission on the building is more easy with SMG than assault riffles until you reach the roof top open space. I always use SMG or shotguns for close quarters. Is more effective and more faster. To hip fire. BF1 I used the assault with automatico SMG or the 10 gauge hunter. BfV, i always use any submachine gun. BF4 my favorite is UMP series, MP series suppressed.

i agree but i find more success quickly switching to semi-auto against enemies at range. thing has no recoil on semi so i tap as fast as i can just dint forget to switch back to burst lol

Got that lap top! Managed to snag a 3070 one! I’ve been wanting to get a decent gaming laptop for when I’m on tbe road (my work provided me a high end work station lap top, but it can’t game for shit). I started using both shot guns. They’re busted especially on rush. I find on other modes their only useful for certain situations. I hope we can eventually have two primary’s! For such large maps I feel that’s a good way to keep people happy.

Nah he’s using normal buckshot, I was using it against bots a couple days ago and it was one shotting from a pretty good range, haven’t used it in multiplayer tho (Xbox one)

Shotguns are so clutch when you use them properly! Tight quarters close combat. Anywhere fighting inside buildings for example. To be more specific why arnt people using the shotgun with Sundance where she can fly in super close range super fast.

Was doing that yesterday on a match on Breakaway. Jumping from glacier to glacier popping snipers and destroying their respawn beacons. Was a lot of fun, especially with the silencer equipped on it.

Think people including me are just trying to get the game to feel responsive, still tweaking my controller settings, lack of aim assist a hindrance so just using any load out to just try and get a good feel for the guns. games fairly new people will start figuring out OP load outs soon enough

Funny. the 00 Buck is heavier and does more damage. But significantly reduces effective range. Making most shots over 10 m a 2 shot kill. I think even shorter ranges the 00 Buck does only 2 shot kills. Also, the 01 buck seems to have more spread and pellets than the 00. The 00 seems to have a more tighter pattern.

That’s what’s so annoying about BF. You shouldn’t have to do a bunch of special movements just to get the full damage of your weapon. Weapons shouldn’t be varying in damage at different ranges like some BF games to force you to play in a specific distance other than a gradual drop of with distance which is understandable since a real bullet would do the same.
