Same. But i have noticed sponge is irritating on skin after 1 month of use. It is hard to remove the emulsified cleansing balm only with water. and a 2nd cleanser. Still not sure how to wipe it off the gentle way possible. 😐

That’s how I wash with my cleansing balm! I use a miracle cloth after though! ! It’s good to know that you don’t need to double cleanse either if u use a balm because I felt like the balm took my sunscreen off great and I don’t wear make up everyday either.

And ... I’ve been doing it wrong! I’ve been massaging the balm in and then taking a muslin cloth dampened with very warm water and rinsing it right off my face- and it hasn’t been removing my eye makeup well at all! Now I know why!! Thanks Elle!

if you look at reviews of cleansing balms & oils, saying it left a film on their skin, this is why, because people dont lather/emulsify before warm wet toweling off... i literally keep "dipping" my hands in water & massaging face repeatedly until my face stops feeling oily/filmy

I'm personally not into the greasy feel of balms having tried Farmacy, but I will say that I think it's very Important to use a 100% Muslin washcloth to take it off with. That's my experience, for what it's worth! Cheers to good skincare 😉

Hi, this video was very helpful but I just wanted to ask a question to be sure I understand correctly. I only use tinted mineral sunscreen and mascara, no other makeup. Since my skin is dry and I have Rosacea my skin is hating the double-cleansing method no matter how gentle the two cleansers are. But my mineral-only sunscreen won't come off completely without using a cleansing balm. I've been using the clinique take the day off balm because it's fragrance-free and seems to remove the sunscreen and mascara completely. I've tried many gentle cream cleansers for the "second cleanse" but they all dry out my skin and really irritate the skin around my eyes. So after seeing your video I tried emulsifying the clinique balm on my face, after rubbing it around on dry skin first for a minute or so, and that seemed to not only remove the sunscreen and mascara, but also just seemed to clean my skin in general and didn't leave a residue behind like it originally did when I didn't emulsify it before rinsing it off. So if I do it this way, emulsifying the balm on my face before rinsing it off, would that mean that I don't ever have to use a second cleanser? If so, this would be a miracle for me as double cleansing (even with a "hydrating" cream cleanser for the second cleanse) is really irritating my skin.

I LOVE cleansing balms. My favorites are Clinique Take The Day Off and Farmacy Green Clean. I tried the Pixi Beauty cleansing balm and it was literally chunky. It had little hard balls in it (a LOT of them) and they didn't melt down once rubbed into the skin. Also, that cleansing balm would NOT wash off of my face at all. Not even with a soap afterwards. Have you ever experienced this with the Pixi balm? Also, how do you feel about cold creams? I'd love to see a video on that ❤❤❤

Watch out for polyethylene, its literally the type of plastic used to make plastic bags. It's in some cleansing balms, and leaves a after glaze on the skin. Good luck ♡♡♡

Hi, i have a cleasning balm from Clinique. On the skin when you add water it becomes milky. Then I rinse it off with water. The face feels clean and soft after this. So no need to cleanse more after right? :) i dont use a wetcloth.

I’m going they this awful stage of dehydration, and I can’t pinpoint the cause....it’s either Tretinoin or double cleansing. Or both. With the double cleanse, I think it is really important to use a very gentle, low PH cleanser as the second step. The instinct, after slathering oil all over your face, is to reach for a stronger cleanser. I’m not doing that anymore. Hada Labo makes a really nice olive oil based cleansing oil. Around $10 on Amazon.

I use my cleansing oil, Paulas Choice, in the shower followed by a Neostrata facial cleanser. How important is it that the face is dry before I go in with the oil? The way I cleanse now, in the shower, the face is already wet.
