"You aren't the best at everything" I've took a long time to understand this simple phrase. I'm about average in many things, but it annoys me because it also means there are many people that are better than me ! I'm still young so I can't entirely relate, but for example when I play with my friends, there's always at least one of them who is better than me ! I'm doing good, but they're doing better, and that's hard to understand when it's in different domains... But now I think it's good like it is ! I focus on what I'm good at, and I try to learn to be better ! I love the fact that you are talking about this topic, and motivating us ! ♥️

A mark of a true professional is admitting that even with all of their experience and expertise it's not possible to know everything and there is always more you can learn. Some of the best artists/creators have the worst imposter syndrome. It's actually not a bad thing. Look up the Krueger-Dunning Effect.

This fear in french we call it "le trac". To have "le trac" is good, it means you like what you do and you put your heart in what you do. So, for me, when I send a chapter to my phd directro or when I go to play a concert, I'm checking my level of "trac", if it's elevated, it's a good sign, it means I care about what I am doing and I'm honest in my work. So, you're obsiously somebody who cares about his work ;)

I wanna quickly touch on working in a group and the two aides of it. When everybody has their own task (as you mentioned, filming crews e.g) its incredibly important to let others correct you, point out mistakes, and you should do the same. But when everybody is working on the same problem, its also important to listen to each other. Example: climbing. Bouldering, to be specific. When multiple people are working on how to send a route, a group dynamic evolves, and you get things done way faster. Not to mention the fun. I dont know how many times I got a route done because somebody else gave me tips. Even when doing things alone you can work in a group, so ye, just listen to each others ideas I guess. Just my thoughts, reply if you feel different about it.

The fact that you have the confidence (idk what to call it) to make videos such as these is really incredible, I will try to use your videos as an encouragement since I wanna start streaming but I lack confidence, I always get these thoughts like "what if a person judges me". Overall, great work, Mumbo!
@taytaythehufflepuff8532

I think the word you may be looking for is courage. And yeah, it takes an insane amount of it to do what seems hard. Because no matter what, we’ll never have enough “confidence” to want to full-heartedly go at something without still having that conflict in our head about what might go wrong. You just kinda… have to take the next step. But really, I find these videos encouraging too, because for me, it’s like, whether or not you procrastinate and feel like junk and see all these other people who are better than you, you can make something actually well done and be successful. And chances are, you’re seeing things worse than everyone else. I wish you luck if you decide to start streaming. And hey, I like to ask myself sometimes “what would happen if someone judges me?” because at the core of the matter, half the time it doesn’t matter and a random person’s judgement doesn’t dictate who I am or what I can or cannot do, and I’d recommend you start changing your mindset too. But what can I say? I’m just a random person on the internet. Lol. But really, good luck. I know it’s daunting. I’ve posted fanfiction for certain fandoms for the first time and I was worried. I bet this is just as (if not more) hard.

This a topic that I was afraid of to hear out load. But finding a the right people is a task I want to tackle. So I signed on for two relevant courses at university to hopefully meet new people there. I also know from past experience, that the fun you have while filmmaking. Comes from having all the other people around Another point I wanted to mention to you, is something I recently noticed while scrolling through your channel thumbnails. If you start from the oldest video and end here at the newest, you will see a very noticable progression of color grading. I strongly suggest you look at it yourself and maybe even reflect on it. It starts off from the inexperienced "default" colors, to something way go flat once you fist shoot log. Then grades develop into a really strong stylized look that takes another year to vanish again, to be replaced by a matured, strong contrast and lively look. Do you notice the same?

im an economics student, and this is a pretty important concept. some people are good at some things, other people are good at other things. those two people are at their most productive when they work together. they play off their strengths

Any task that needs to be done should be done by the most qualified person available to complete said task. The only situation in which one should try to do everything himself is if 1) he IS the most qualified person to complete said task, and 2) he has enough time to do it himself. If either of these conditions aren't met, the odds of failure go up. Spectacularly.
