I’ve wanted to raise this conversation with you two for a while now. I believe the conversations and topics you have talked about in this Q&A are important. To have Stone understand, and to be sensitive on how to treat women is vital. Not only to Holland but to how he views and treats the women he will encounter in his life. That you two gentlemen are cognizant of, and are proactive with them on the matter, is pretty awesome. However, equally as important as the above is showing them and teaching them that there are other ethnicities that they will encounter. I’ve followed your channel for a couple years now and I don’t believe there are any other ethnic groups that you surround yourselves with other them your own. As a Black man and an ally, I believe integrating your children, and for that matter yourselves, with people who do not look like you to be important. I believe it as important as it is to teach Stone and Holland the power of women and the respect they deserve.

I feel you both on being very different in a lot of ways but complementary to each other. My husband and I are the same in that regard. I was pregnant with my daughter when my partner died. He was so excited to become a dad. I had moved to Southern Africa because of my job, so family were thousands of klms away. A dear friend and colleague would come to my office to just chat and ensure I was okay. I had a gut feeling he was gay. He was but didn't feel it would be good to come out at work. He, his partner & I became dear friends. They adored my newborn daughter. I told her about same sex relationships from age 3, using age appropriate words. She grew up without bias. She is now a young woman, growing her career, and has 2 sets of gay men as close friends. I think the world would be a nicer place if we didn't discriminate. You are both helping to change that narrative in a country that can be very conservative & hateful. Children thrive when they are loved and encouraged. Your children are secure in your love for them. So glad I found your channel.

Old and jaded are absolutely the first words that come to mind when thinking about Dustin, not!! Adorable and funny, probably, but not so much old and jaded. Exposure is probably the best part of all the work that doing this channel is. Being able to tune in and see a family that's functional and loving and healthy can really change hearts and minds. Sadly, there's always going to be haters, and they're just going to hate no matter what, but those that are open and respectful, can see what being a same sex family really means, and can learn and grow. And, obviously, as you just learned, it's a great way for your children to make friends. It doesn't get better then that.

You guys are so awesome together. I enjoy your videos and appreciate how honest you are with each other and what great dads you are. My wife and I raised 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy. I am a nurse so I saw women get mistreated my entire career. I raised my daughters to be strong, independent yet respectful women. Both are awesome moms and my son is a great dad. One of my greatest joys is watching my children raise my grandchildren. It’s a beautiful thing to behold.

Normally I don't write comments. But I am following you on KZbin because you display an ideal version of what a 2-dad family could and does look like. As an older gay men, happily married with no kids, I wish to thank you for the authenticity. Especially in this video. At times I find that it is a bit too rosy, showing only the jolly side of your life, making it a bit scripted, but at the end of the day, I keep coming back (and looking forward to videos on Wednesdays and being disappointed if you post late) because you put a smile on my face! This video is particularly authentic, one can feel it. And I loved it. Have a jolly Christmas period and keep on being yourself. That alone helps tons of younger gay kids feeling good about themselves. Take care.

It's just not inspiration for gays. It's for all parents. Too often for straight couples, the kid thing just kinda happens and then they have to scramble to deal with it, even if not really prepared. With gay couples, it all has to be planed and full commitment to it.

What struck me, and I have frequently thought the 'rose' of youtube or film is it allows one to become immortal. The film stars I knew of as a child, now dead come alive to me once again. Or looking at old 8mm films of grandparents and parents bring them back to life. I'm happy for you that you live in an accepting and friendly community. There's so much hate these days toward anyone different. You both are so well engaged with your two children as well as with each other. I see so many young couples that fail to realize the important aspects of a relationship. When you meet that very special someone, first there is a certain chemistry. But then you must look beyond that. Do you recall the old movie theme song, 'Love is a Many Splendered Thing'? It's like a many faceted MUTUAL thing: a real caring love, maintaining a special intimacy, having a great deal of respect, a strong trust, a sense of humor to have fun, doing things for each other to make the other feel loved, being in the moment as you never know what the next moment will bring, and to not sweat the small stuff as trivial things can build up to a silly resentment. Children can bring a special joy to family life if you try to keep a positive attitude toward them i.e., love, encouragement, patience, and respect. Young babies come into the world knowing little but the feel of hunger. While good schools are important, the parents are the most important teachers, both by active training and by the example you set. This includes empathy, acceptance of those who are different, self-confidence, independent thinking, seeking truth as best you can determine it, and avoiding forming a dependency on social web-sites (to not allow mischevious algorithms buried in such programs to present amplified misinformation and lies to your impressionable young ones). It's a tough world out there, but love and positive re-enforcement of better ideas for your children can help them learn how to spot the bad ideas and become the adults you will be proud to call your daughters and sons. Perhaps long-winded, but these are the guide-posts we tried to follow for our family. We experienced a lot of joy in our relationship and from our children. Keep up the good work!
