@@TheRecordist I’m just passing this on, in case you might be interested: the Tone Benders podcast is looking for submissions of field recordings and the stories behind them for an upcoming episode. They provide some information and examples of their own in episode 232. I think the submission deadline is the end of today, or possible tomorrow, depending on how they’re defining “by Nov 19th”. I like the part on the MIDI in/out stuff. I would just mention that most DAWs have some sort of plugin or system to set the MIDI channel and port number. For example I have used the MIDI out on my interface to sync with my System 1 synth in FL Studio. This requires loading the MIDI Out plugin into the channel rack and setting the corresponding port/channel number. Plenty of videos on the tube for details on that but I’m a nerd mentioning nerd stuff.

Methinks the music in KZbin videos keeps getting louder all the time. To the extent that the level raises far above any voice parts and I have to keep cranking the listening level up and down all the time. I wish KZbin would do something about this.

Hey. There’s nothing KZbin can do. Each video is produced by the person uploading. The person who made the video has to find the correct balance between dialogue and music. This is not something that KZbin has any control over. They can’t remix an already finished video, sorry to say.
