You got the same quad as my friends kid. We had to do some work to it on occasion but that jr sized 110 lasted him from 10 to 14 years old. It costs $120 a year for 4 years to buzz around the farm. He outgrew it. Moved on to dads z400. Now hear 21 and just picked up a canned ham xmr 1000. I bought a 50 sized w a 110 motor for $100 used, 10 years ago. I've messed w the carb enough to make it run really well. It pulls me around pretty well at #180 been great for my kids to learn. That little china, honda knock off is on its 4th rider. Btw bought a real nice motorcycle battery. Brand name. It was around $120 a few years later needed a new battery. Bought its 2nd battery from walmart paid $33 , no $h!t. Its been starting that little machine for 5 years now

Need help,not sure if this has ever happened to you,I finally got a friend's atv started,wiring issue carb. Ecg. I started it up and the rear wheels kept spinning,atv took off on me. What causes that?,I checked throttle linkage,needed seat,ecg. I have never had this happen,any advice? It is 110 cc, Chinese kid quad,no shift,just throttle and go?
@PraskaBoysGarage3 жыл бұрын
Some of them have a semi auto transmission but more commonly they come with a centrifugal clutch and you are in gear and ready to ride as soon as you start up. Now if your at an idle, it shouldn't be moving so if yours is going forward right off the rip you need to turn your idle down.
@kylewassel2873 жыл бұрын
Thanks,but I figured it out,but you are right about the idle. It was the throttle needle not seating,assembly was poor quality,had to clean it up,force it in,this is the throttle / needle assembly to carb. Brand new carb too. Thanks for responding,appreciate it. If the needle doesn't seat ,its Like wot!

Very nice project, but it would be a little bit nicer if you converted the front drum brakes to disc brakes. I know it would be kind of pricey but it would be safer to drive it as you know too...
@PraskaBoysGarage4 жыл бұрын
Very true. I've never seen front disk brakes on these chinese atvs before. Do you know if someone offers a bolt on kit to upgrade?

Matthew It depends on how mechanical you are. If your just getting started learn on a cheap Chinese ATV first. Then I would look to get either a Raptor 350 for a sports quad or a Honda Fourtrax. Great atvs to work on and a blast to ride without breaking the bank! Keep me posted on what you get!

@@PraskaBoysGarage I have started! However, have you ever encountered a quad with only 4 wires out of the stator that include green, two yellows and a blue/white. There is no black/red ! I have taken off the stator cover to see if perhaps the wire had broken within the cable sheath but no, there is no black/red entering the loom from within the cover. I can only see green, two yellows and a blue/white. Any advice would be much appreciated
@PraskaBoysGarage5 жыл бұрын
temple68 interesting...So green is ground, yellow is the charging & lighting wires and I believe blue is the pick up for the cdi box. Follow the blue, does it go to the cdi? That should tell it when to fire spark from the timing and red/black should charge the cdi. Only 4 wires is new to me, but I was trace and and see where they all go.
@alextas36515 жыл бұрын
Hi and me again (alextas temple68). I have little idea about youtube. I have been playing a bit more with my quad and another one. Turns out the 4 wire stator is intended for a dc cdi. I made up an ugly loom and got it going. Instead of the black/red you take a red straight from the battery. Tried it on another quad which originally had an ac 5 pin cdi and black/red from the stator. Hooked it up in the same way using red from battery and not the black/red, and it went too! Very happy but am using a double house light switch as start and run which is not ideal so will have to spend some more time to get them bush ready!! Will try and add a picture somehow...

Question, I picked up a Tao 70, it was butchered so I ordered and replaced all wiring and electronics ($35) was waiting on new carb but after wiring it, I sprayed a bit of starting fluid into the intake and she came alive !!!! Now I got it all back together and went to start it and all the starter does is spin, its not cranking the enginem just spins??? What could be the issue? Thank you for any help as I cant find anything online.

Praska Boy's Garage awesome man followed your link ordered the harness! Hope it works out!! One more question the picture on the link you sent me shows that it comes with the stator. But going down the items listed it doesn’t say it comes with the stator. I did a very similar tear down to what you do in your video and I found that the engine was not getting spark but has good compression! I pulled the stator tossed a oem meter on it and nothing! Even to ground. So again my question is does the harness come with the pictures 5 pin stator? Or should I order it separately??? Also man I really do appreciate your videos I’m pretty mechanically inclined but having someone to check your work against takes away a lot of the second guessing! Thanks in advance -Johnny
