Haha! I had a neighbor that called the cops on me for running my plow truck early morning before heading out. I usually plow our street because I live in a dead end street and plow trucks don’t come by after 2nd day after the storm. So he had the audacity to call the cops on me for vehicles running. So one day we had a huge massive snow storm. I didn’t plow the street and he came to my door to asked when I was going to plow it because he needed to go to work. I said well, I can’t start up my truck and leave it running to warm it up so wait until the day gets warm so I can start my truck and clear the snow. 😂 he got so apologetic and didn’t understand or knew that diesel trucks require warming up due to not being direct injection and etc. sometimes when people have it nice and easy in life but when that one person stops helping and they notice what they have done. Then they realize there mistakes and people should just mind their own business.

That guy calling the cops is kind of and yet sad. My personal story on that. Before I retired, I would leave for work at 530 am. That meant if it snowed,I was running snow blower at 445. Neighbor called cops one day. They showed up because they have to. Cops told them " well he is only running it because it snowed"! Funny part was if their driveway wasn't done when I got home, I would do theirs! Never took money!!!? Needless to say I never did that again!!!

Unfortunately I to have run into this kind of behavior from a neighbor that I never had a problem with until we moved due to work. The attitude seemed to change and become almost hostile when they found out we were moving. I believe it was a combination of fear, who will move in next, sadness, of loosing a friend, and being hurt that you're leaving them after years of being a good neighbor. That in no way excuses their actions. Strange how people react sometimes.

Yeah, I smoked for 45 years and quit 12 years ago. However, the damage had already been done. Last year at age 70 I got lung cancer. 2 rounds of chemo, 32 radiation treatments and now getting monthly Immunotherapy. So far, so good.

I hate seeing neighbors not be neighborly. In my 23 years of living in this neighborhood I have seen 1 cop come in on patrol. And twice them called in for domestic abuse and animal cruelty. Everything else even the animal thing we all handle or try to with-in our own neighborhood community. We had a guy who revved his hotrod until 3am every night. I heard it from 4 houses down. We all talked to him and explained babies are hard to put to sleep and it wakes them up. He is young and dumb so half got it but still did it on Friday/Saturday nights. The people with newborns knew his wife was pregnant so instead of talking/calling the cops again they simply dealt with it for 1-2months on the weekends and the second his baby was born he finally understood it all and apologized to everyone and gave gift baskets to those with babies. Back to the animal cruelty was a guy left his huskies out in 90+ degree days for weeks on end and animal rescue workers that live in the neighborhood talked to him and explained the dangers 5 times and threated to call animal control the last 2 times until the finally did after he didn't learn. Outside of the active domestic abuse no one has ever called the cops on the first or second talking and everyone's civil enough to respect the wishes of those near-by. Even the Karens/Kens simply just yelled at you and kept to their selves when you didnt do something technically illegal like riding unregistered vehicles on the road (ATVs, Golf cats, ect.)
