This is the best video explanation of what is UX/UI on YT. And I agree - more advanced designers dont want to share knowledge, they make it complicated. The same thing happens with tattoo artists - almost no one wants to share knowledge, because they are afraid there will be too many artists and they will lose their job. It turns out in the end, that those who share knowledge, earn more money 😅

Glad it was helpful! In a way you can be a ux designer without even knowing it because if you're making things people use online, you need to think about how you're making them. Methodologies and smart words are just filler - in the end what matters is if what you made achieves the planned goal.

Thanks for the video, great explanation of UX/UI! I'm a Product Designer and I've seen so much business lingo, hand waving and mysticism from UX Gods on Medium etc about what UX is and the "magic of design thinking" that I think some of those articles just try to overcomplicate and mystify quite simple ideas (probably so they can charge more $$ when selling their magic services).
@MalewiczHype3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, these are my thoughts exactly - people are making it unnecessarily complex (often with bad intentions of gatekeeping) - time to make it simple again :)

You could add to the video that there is a standard ISO 9241-210 Human-centred design for interactive systems It defines vocabulary and the basic process so that everyone can have the same basic understanding of it. The standard also elaborates things like the importance of the context of use.
@MalewiczHype2 жыл бұрын
It may define standards and vocab but then most companies online use their own wording for most of the things and it creates a huge mess. ISO in interfaces isn't enforced as much by anyone (and that's actually good because the internet should be free) - but yeah it is worth mentioning and definitely worth a read :)
@bluecarrots43962 жыл бұрын
@@MalewiczHype Yeah, the huge mess is something these standards aim to solve :D Also, saying that UX design is mostly web ui design for consumer applications may add to the confusion... Perhaps over simplifying it doesn't do it much good. At least I would like to see more Information management professionals join the UX field over some self-learned graphic designers. But I have pretty academic/enterprise point of view to UX and that might explain it.

Hi Malewicz I had a question I wanted to develop a custom app. But after analysing allot of other apps I noticed some things. Why are profile pictures not in a square with rounded edges aren’t those better then circle. I know that sharp edges are bad. Also why isn’t almost any app using rounded (edges) tab bar? In my opinion if sharp edges aren’t good for the view why are they holding it square? (Photos, tab bars, search bar, etc? I want to make a app where most of the objects are in a square with rounded edges end so I thought profile pictures I’ll make them also square with circle edges and also for my tab bar. But after seeing no one doing it I don’t wanna waste time maybe it’s a bad idea for a reason and would like to know your opinion pleas!
@SnappyScience3 жыл бұрын
Only my thoughts but before you get caught up in which boxes are rounded I'd be ensuring you have a great app with a great story and/or experience. No amount of rounded edges can fix a bad app. Secondly UX/UI isn't a stagnant process, so take your design concept, prototype it, test it and itterate.That'll make you a better designer as you test and learn. Design is a continuous process and the results may surprise you. Good luck with the idea!
@iListAi3 жыл бұрын
@@SnappyScience thanks the idea and the story is big and that’s what allot of volunteer workers are saying. I have searched everything and it took me some years to know that I was coming at this idea. I have done allot of others business some more succes then others but this app will be my end goal and after reviewing my presentation with big people it’s a big one I believe. Now I just need to find out how to make a team because I will get donated something in the 400k for this app but I just need to figure my team build or working with a agency. Or I’ll need investing in some mentors to tell me how to do the building team. The full concept is ready for build, I’m also making the prototype ready and then I need ux and ui experts to have a look and change what needed and then go get developers. But I’m the founder of the app, the marketing strategy, the logo/story behind it. And the full analysis of the competition etc. I have lucky there is a big need for this but now one is getting it done big reason is because they don’t have the crucial domain for the idea and I got lucky I got a domain with millions of searches so the app is coming for sure soon

You obviously want to sell your courses so you have to say this is great job well paid etc (nothing wrong with that), I have an idea - maybe do the video of dark side of this profession. There thousands of videos people saying how great it is and everyone try to sell something it would be refreshing to watch other perspective.

But my motivation is not just to sell my courses - I believe there's enough free stuff on this channel a lot to learn and be successful. This job is suprisingly well paid for how relatively easy it is - so the more people can make the switch and have a great career, the more happy I am. I had a more financial motivation a few years ago, but now hearing someone I helped a little bit, got their job and changed their life for the better on the other side of the world makes my entire day better.
