I wish I had a garage to do all this comfortably 🙁 .. most people tell me it's not good to be outside because of the immediate contamination from being outside for just a few minutes so I've been hesitant even though my car really needs a polish.

Are you thinning the clear coat ? You can only thin the clear coat so much. Have you tried Sonus swirl buster Polish it will not thin the clear coat but fill in swirl marks and scratches and last up to 4 or 6 months and your vehicle will look amazing.

Can u make a vid explaining why u have to polish a car after u compounded? Thanks in advance
@ChemicalGuys Жыл бұрын
Great suggestion!
@bansheerider619 Жыл бұрын
the paint has to be really bad to use compound. Compound has no polishing ability. Compound has heavy abrasives to correct damaged paint by removing a layer of the factory clear coat. After compound you need oils/fillers to fill the gaps created by the compound as well as shine. Polish merely fills the imperfections and shines. Then you need a top coat to protect the work you did, such as a ceramic, wax, or sealant. You can skip all these steps by using a compound/polish 2 in 1, but you may not get the same result. Also keep in mind each product requires a certain pad to use. You dont want to use a cutting pad for polish or wax LOL.

Thanks guys....is it imperative that we use a DA polisher or can we get the same results using a rotary. If so is there any different technique
@RandyCastelos-ee7ns7 ай бұрын
Indeed there’s different steps to a rotary! Da is user friendly ! Rotary not so much be careful not to let the rotary sit in the same spot long as that can burn your paint keep an eye on heat good way of doing so is the back of your hand
@pali1H Жыл бұрын
Hi sorry I'm sure this has been answered before. I have one of your polishers. Are you putting any pressure down when correcting or just enough to keep control of the polisher?
@ChemicalGuys Жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes, when using a DA polisher use the weight of your hand plus a little more and listen for the tone of the machine to change. Be sure the pad is constantly spinning.
