I loved this. I was in Cape Coral Fl. I said I wanted to go to the ocean. The visit before we went to a beach. In my mind it was ocean. My friend said the ocean was 2 hours away. I was confused. To me the Gulf was the ocean in my mind. I also say car or truck. Never SUV. Good grief people.stop being so picky. Let us use the words we want!

In Australia we have cars/wagons/utes/SUVs etc. I now call everything that is not a sedan a truck now too. Simpler. I love how Thais don’t overthink things. I learnt the Thai word for Salmon the other day. Som Pla=Orange Fish.

Love your YT show. I think the word of the day is great. In the UK/Ireland we would use the word(s) the 'seaside' or the seaside' (regardless of it actually being the beach at the sea, gulf or ocean) to describe what you were looking for in Brit English. Keep up the great work. ❤

It is salt water, so it is an ocean to me. I live in Michigan, surrounded by fresh water. Therefore, they are lakes. My first time in salt water was in Pattaya. I later visited the beaches in Kho Chiang and Rayong . The beach is the area that surrounds the water. People need to chill!

I stayed at the tide resort in bangsaen not long ago… was nice.. good pool.. good breakfast.. restaurant/cafe right out front.. beach right across the road…the seafood market is not far and a cool place to visit…… just gearing up now to head to kohchang in a week or 2…that place your staying at looks nice…
