12:08 as someone whos diagnosed with PTSD and other things, i really hate people who uses their mental illness as an excuse for stuff because it would make others think that everyone with mental illness is like this and think that we're "whining" or whatever. it’s really insulting that she would use that to try to get out of responsibilities. edit: just finished the video and the way she kept mentioning her "mental health problems" every 5 seconds, makes me doubt she has the things shes claiming, most people who genuinely suffer from the stuff shes claiming, wont use it as an excuse to get out of responsibility and wont mention it every 5 seconds for sympathy because we know that our problems don't excuse any behaviours. i hate people like her, adding to the stigma

Am biracial - white and native. My dads side of the family literally lives on an Indian reservation in South Dakota and I am tribally enrolled. No one who is actually indigenous would ever consider pulling that stunt. Growing up, I knew some of my oldest relatives on my dad's side experienced the horrors of native boarding schools first hand. So they aren't going to turn around two generations later and start telling cops that they're native in hopes of getting an easier time. And as someone on medication for and with an actual diagnosis of ADHD and generalized anxiety disorder, it's never caused any issues while interacting with police or come up in anyway whatsoever. In fact, from talking to the police like a responsible person, I've literally had an officer say, "you know what, you've just been apologetic and nice and accepted what you did instead of excusing it or being nasty with me. I'm not going to write you a ticket and you never have to worry about anything (legal) coming out of this interaction." Certainly, that officer was being extremely nice himself, but you get back what you give to people. Now, I do have autism and some meltdowns have resulted in a wellness check being done by police, and in those cases, I've had to let them know about the ASD because it causes such a problem with eye contact which some officers don't like if they don't understand why. Each time, at least one officer (usually 2-3 come for a wellness check) has had an autistic relative and have gone out of their way to be understanding of me and giving me physical space. Since I moved to this state two years ago, there is an option to have "autism" listed on your government ID just like blood donor status would be, and everyone in my life thought it would be a good idea to get that added in case any such wellness checks or anything else ever happened; I've had one interaction with officers since getting here, and they already knew I had ASD upon showing up as one of them mentioned it in relation to it causing certain issues I was having then. Anyway. I hope she gets the book thrown at her for using race and disability as a cop out like this.

@@anonymousperson1771 It's somewhat different from rez to rez, but generally, they're atrocious places to live which chronic unemployment and poverty. This isn't the fault of the tribes, they've been so legally restricted in what they can develop on their own lands, they aren't even given the opportunity. The rez my dad's family is from is one of the worst in the country and the average yearly income for a family of 4 (though this stat is about 10 years old) was $2,000 USD (yes, for an entire year). People, especially elderly residents who can't go out to cut wood, are known to freeze to death in their homes because no one can afford heating. I don't want to shame the rez or blame tribal leaders and want to emphasize, they're doing the best they can with the severely restricted resources still left on their lands or provided by the US government. Could go on and on, but they need reform bad.

word of advice something I found out from a lawyer is that it's best to deny the field tests as that's how they really get you because it's not an exact science and is basically up for interpretation and they can say whatever they want, the field tests are not required and there is no punishment for denial(at least in the state I live in), you just accept the breathalyzer and do that cuz If you deny the breathalyzer you're license is automatically suspended for a year. Also she was stupid for saying she has depression and suicidal tendencies because now they have to strip her naked and put her in the sponge room so it's not possible to harm herself. They worry about people using their clothes as a neuce and them being held liable.
@lil_truth9 ай бұрын
Ok but she was drunk so none of this matters, she would have failed the breathalyzer. Cops also are not out trying to “get” everyone. This is just a fable made up by people who want to feel victimized. If anything it’s usually the opposite, people get behind a wheel of a vehicle and drive like dick heads or under the influence and then give the officer a hard time. I’ve been pulled over twice in my entire life and got two minor tickets. That’s not because I’m white, that’s because I follow the laws.
