Sonys endless mandate to push for cinematic games came at a strange time when there were no real console power pushing games and that weird time after the Xbox One and PS4 head to head where they wanted to integrate cable TV into the console along with a dozen streaming services. Then the last of us happened.. then the initial success of resident evil 2 which was its name and not the game itself really. They've been stuck in this mode like a retiree at the old folks home stuck on channel 4. They cant move past it and their sales for these games have been worse than the games before it. Look at Silent Hill 2, pretty clear and cut people are losing interest in movie games... you can just watch a movie.
