"You Cannot Fly Drones Here!"

Today I visited Salisbury Cathedral. I spoke to various staff who did not want me to fly my drone!

Pure. I love it when someone really doesn't want you filming and is kicking off about it, and then you walk away saying "Well they were alright about it weren't they" even when they're blatantly not. You are definitely the king of wind up merchants. On most occasions they don't even realise that you're taking the piss out of them. Love it. Keep up with your excellent videos.

yep his gentle approach is amazing, its frustrating to them because someone as "pure" as him is so unusual, most people are assholes so expect to deal with assholes, but PA is so positive, so if youre an asshole to him its because youre genuinely an asshole person

I went to art college in Salisbury. I chose Salisbury as it had the most pubs per head in the whole of the UK, (typical student!!). The Cathedral is gorgeous!

😂😂😂I love the verger's reaction - it was somehow so bonkers. The 'Clerk' in the light green was a real gentleman wasn't he, it's genuinely awful if some drones, presumably heavy ones, have damaged the cathedral, and I think that he (unlike the baffling Mr Hut) understood about drones being able to be flown from public places. Beautiful pictures as always PA - even better than usual this time - great stuff, thanks again.

The cathedral and any other place of public worship or prayer is now privately owned and is publicly funded alongside British heritage is purely used as a business, when the roof springs a leak they come begging for help from the public, as well as charging an entrance fee of anything between £16 - £20 to enter a place of worship or prayer. Imagine taking a family to see inside, get a loan first.

@ you just say, thank you but I do not wish to pay. Last time I was there it was a suggested donation unless you wanted to go to the Chapter house or the Spire tour. The rest is well worth a visit whether you chose to pray or not. Although as it is a place of worship access during services may be restricted unless you wish to take part.

Great video and opportunity to see the Salisbury Cathedral. ⭐⭐⭐👍😇 The cathedral drone policy notes operating a drone within the Close is prohibited due to the buildings and nesting peregrine falcons. The policy does acknowledge "CAA regulations do not limit flying over the Close" then notes liability concerns to deter drone use (data protection, historic building, school, wildlife). They do give contact details for permission to operate within the Close. Unfortunately didn't see a map on their site to clarify the extent of the Close and public.

A good example of where the CAA drone code isn’t the only law that applies. The wildlife and countryside act makes this flight a potential offence. Schedule 1 species in and around that building. It’s a piece of legislation that is worth reading for a drone flier
