Milwaukee PACKOUT Storage Systems arguably leads the charge in mobile tool storage solutions. However, there are still improvements to be had, especially when using them in and around the shop. We show you how to add a much more versatile moving base to make shuffling your PACKOUT around much easier. We have a couple of solutions, one straight from Milwaukee, and the other from Harbor Freight and Milwaukee. #packout #milwaukeetool #shoplife

I use my packouts on the farm so I put mounting plates on a heavy duty off-road wagon. Works great and can be pulled by hand or behind an ATV at slow speeds

That is a great idea! You just have them mounted flat (horizontally) on the trailer? Thanks for watching and for the feedback.

@@Shoptoolreviews yes they are mounted flat. The wagon is big enough that I have 2 full size plates, one on each end and a 1/2 plate mounted in between them

This is a upgrade many people, I'm glad to see - have caught onto! In my case I went with the 'half' size packout plate for using with the M18 vac, larger casters (the bigger the wheel the less noise as you traverse practically anything.). Material is also important, rubber is great as it dampens sound most, polyurethane is durable - the larger often the better for the same principle (tiny wheels = huge rattling).

Anyone else notice the mounting spot for a Milwaukee OneKey tracker adjacent to the the spring location?

Love this TIm. Would like to see you try and build a "QUICKSTOP Loading lever" of your own for the HF version. I love using my PACKOUT Dolly in our shop, and use it often. But I can't imagine the frustration of trying to add or remove loaded boxes on a the HF dolly without that pedal to hold it still. And I'd much rather have Milwaukee's solution then just locking casters. Those aren't nearly as fast.

I wish there was a way to anchor the wheeler cabinet to a pack out base so it can't move around in the truck. That would be the only issue I have with the system. Otherwise, top shelf gentlemen, top shelf.

I like the Harbor Freight modular tool storage because it's vastly cheaper and doesn't draw the attention Red or Orange bring.

Lol. That's actually a pretty valuable point, less likely to get stolen, and it still gets the job done. Can't fault you for that. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have a flatbed with a three wheel forklift attached and my SnapOn Epiq series box strapped down in the bed. I use the forklift to load and unload my SnapOn tool chest at every jobsite. Way more convenient than Packout.

I’ve built a few of my own. I like the Harbor Freight dolly idea. Spencer Lewis from Insider Carpentry has a great solution for the dollies he loads into his vans. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH_Inohpnsl9q5Ysi=O1fZTN_iGUp27bof

Yes, we did see that Insider Carpentry (Spencer) made a video on this as well. We noticed this during our editing of the video. He has a lot of great points specific to what they do. They make great content. Thanks for watching.
