When you give the hammys boredom breakers like that, do you still give them their seed mix the regular way as well? Because my Syrian will not touch the boredom breaker and rather find the seeds I’ve spread in their enclosure and I’m wondering if I am offering them a “too easy” way to get their seeds, which is why they don’t do the boredom breaker.

When I was 8 i had a hamster named peanut and unfortunately he never received proper care. 😞 Since then i have had 8 hamsters who started off in bad living situations but i slowly started transforming their care for them and when i was 10 I found your channel. Can you keep two hamsters in the same room? If they are in separate enclosures but can smell and see each other? Wouldn't that stress the male out if the female went into heat every four days? My two hamsters seem to notice each other, but I don't know how they feel about it. My syrian female keeps looking over to robo dwarf while he is running around in his cage and wheel... Yup, I've had multiple hamster's live in the same room (separate cages of course) for many years now and have yet to have any issues. Especially when owning different species, a male syrian isn't going to be bothered by a female robo as they are not the same species and cannot breed with each other and vice versa. Some may have issues when having a female syrian and male syrian in the same room and in that case may need to move one to a different room. Hamster's don't have great vision as well so it's possible your hamster is just looking in the same direction your robos cage is.

hello victoria, i just wanted to say this video make my day better. 3 month ago i rescued a pair of rabbits and i actualy didint realy know their ages and judging by their activness i asumed they were yonger but unfortunately they were not. they were very cloesd to their deats and last week i lost one of them. i felt misrable knowing the conditions they came from and i couldnt save them erlier. with talking my vet, we both agred to set the other one to sleep since she was deeply mourning. i feel so sad but there is nothing i can do about it.

I’m going to get a hamster next summer! I’m currently getting a job so I can give it the best life possible. Unfortunately there are no ethical hamster enclosures at any pet stores near me, but there are glass reptile enclosures. When I searched up if that’s safe it didn’t give me an answers so I’m wondering if I should just opt for a storage bin instead looking for anyone who cat help in the comments :3

I got my 40*21 bin cage at target on sale for 19$, that’s what my hamster John f Kennedy is in right now! Bin cages are also a lot lighter then glass enclosures, which can make them easier to move around by yourself. I’m waiting for Black Friday and/or cyber Monday for sales on enclosures to upgrade him to maybe a niteangel. Just make sure whatever you choose is not only wide and long enough, but also tall enough! My bin cage is about 18 inches tall and I feel like 20 would be much more comfortable to arrange everything while having enough bedding.

Most countries don't have suitable enclosures in store, the majority of us either order from online or make our own enclosures! ☺️ Tanks are safe as long as it's above 75 gallons and has a lid.

Is it ok to adopt a hamster but not touch or handle your hamsters if they don’t like it or are very scared? Especially if they’re a robo hamster who’s very small? Are they ok if I just feed them, clean out the tank and watch them play?

Yes! Some hamster's aren't a big fan of interaction. It is important to still do a health check on them every so often but if they are really scared of handling you can use a glass measuring cup to view them properly and look them over ☺️
