I recently actually removed that video because people mentioned to me that It could harm your account so I would run the sale once in a while, but I would not do it every single day just in case!! Which is kind of crazy that etsy would allow you to do that, that’s why it was allowed. Maybe just run it once a week or so

Something I learned from an etsy webinar from etsy is to run sales every thursday-sunday and it has worked awesome for me.

Good and accurate presentation. About discount on prices, I would try to direct only to situations where there is stuff in stock that you want to get rid of. New stuff coming - or a similar situation. Products that sell anyway should not be subject to a discount price. One way could be a clearance sale, giving existing subscribers the opportunity to place orders for this batch before others. A code may be suitable for this.

If you have a lot of volume sales it can get hard to message every single customer , especially if they reply back and then you have to keep a conversation going with too many people

Sales tax is taken care of by etsy but you definitely want to have a separate bank account from your personal so you can track all your business expenses and get an accurate depiction of what your true profit was.

Taxes are super complex especially per your state so it’s better to work with a CPA especially one that specializes in e-commerce :) thanks!

I'm concerned about "over" discounting. For example, if a "Thank you hop over to...to retrieve your secret code for a 10% discount" is sent after they purchase, and they hop over to the social media page, follow, and I give them the code, then days later they receive their purchase in the mail, open it up and see the "Thank you" card with, what I'm assuming is the same code," can that code be input twice at the same time so it becomes 20% instead of 10? Or does the thank you card serve as a second opportunity for them to retrieve a discount? So I guess the question becomes, is the (promo)code they retrieve on social media, the same one that's listed on the Thank you card?

With digital products they get their purchase right away. So if there's already a thank you "card" in the file which they're getting instantly, should you still send a message? Or is that too much? Since they will be getting two ~thank you/or other~ messages at around the same time, isn't that repetitive/too insisting ?
