Clicked on this video having no idea who Drew Walls is or what the video would be about, but wow I’m so glad I did click. What a powerful story, and a reminder I needed to hear right now that yes, you very well might fail and be humiliated as you try your hand at something “weird” and unfamiliar. But you never know if you never try. And sometimes just that glimmer of hope is worth the effort. Mm what a word. Thanks for sharing Stephanie. I’m a chronic video hopper on YT and have no shame clicking off a video as fast as I click on, but you are so consistently captivating. I hope your journey as a creator goes like Drew’s that you too would say “we did it!”

This is such a fascinating conversation. I feel like people usually people who clown and make fun of influencers/content creators (who really aren’t doing anything wrong ) have some serious internal issues and insecurities. It takes a lot of confidence and vulnerability to put yourself out there online. I often feel like people want you to feel small because they themselves feel small and want to "put you in your place" to soothe their own self-loathing. People who are comfortable with who they are never waste their time with public ridicule or shaming.

Girl my motto for online personas has always been: "you can be as different as you want as long as you are the same as everyone else", that's the online world for you. That's the idea behind vitality, and trends, plus most people don't really like different no matter what people say... that's why everyone wants to look the same.. look at me with my Stanley cup or my hydro flask I mean isnt that just a water bottle with a different name plastered on it!? And if you are going to be different then make sure you are top notch at your difference.. Kubrick, Tarantino, Prince, and then you can be the biggest blow heart you want, you have earned it, so don't be surprised when we all uncover unsavory things about said different people..yeah they are different!! That's why we don't like it... It's outside the norm.. humans are evolutionary conditioned to search for the sameness to go with the norm.

I love his story so much. The ultimate example of tuning out the hate and having tunnel vision on your goals. I'm so happy for him. I actually love watching this kind of content, I actually follow quite a few accounts that post just like him, very aestetic and aspirational daily blogs. I love them and appreciate the cinematography that goes into some of them. Most of the creators I follow are women, but still the vibe is the same. I'm glad he pushed through.

NGL, I had no clue who Drew Walls was before watching this video, and even now, I can't claim to know much about his content. But your analysis and the message you've conveyed here are intriguing nonetheless. Seriously, you could host your own talk show, and I'd be a loyal viewer. What's fascinating about Drew's journey is how he defied expectations. Instead of presenting typical gym content and doing 100 bench presses in 60 seconds, he ventured into "feminine" territory like grocery runs, drawing both criticism and praise. By simply not conforming to stereotypes, he's become a standout figure in online content creation. This somewhat compares to your own experiences with "pretty privilege" which resonated deeply. You didn't resort to blanket statements like “all men are trash”; instead, you shared your truth in a relatable and humorous manner, sparking important conversations. Similarly, Drew's unconventional approach challenges perceptions, making him a content game-changer. I don’t think he would have gotten the same response or endorsements had he jumped on the camera talking about how women need to submit to men or was halfway naked and sweating while doing calisthenics.

He literally started out in that fitness lane. His story is that he was fat and worked on his physique. And over time he’s ventured into different content. But he has the fitness and onlyfans background like a lot of influencers.
@LivLyfe9 ай бұрын
@@mretaughtus2152 Ahh, well that’s quite interesting. Thanks for sharing the backstory. I’m curious about his earlier content now. Was he approaching his fitness transformation like David Goggins or did he have more of a serene take on it? I certainly don’t know much about Onlyfans or its creators, but this revelation caught me by surprise despite his physique. Perhaps he’s exploring different avenues to further distinguish himself? Seems to be working for him.

I love his content! I noticed his biggest critics are men. I think men know this will attract a lot of money for him and women attention. When those two things are at play men become very threatened by each other. It’s jealousy. I love your content Steph I always need your authenticity. But I get what you’re saying it’s about getting paid.
@verda_renee9 ай бұрын
I also think a lot of men are jealous because they might want to make this kind of content but feel afraid to because of what other men might say. So, seeing him just do it anyway and actually get the views and the following, that makes them envious.

At the root of Drew's woes with the 'people' is the internalised disdain of creatives (how dare we dream!) , evidence of how men worship at the altar of the patriarchy despite it literally killing them, evidence of how influencing is still taken as a 'little job' SIMPLY because it is a female based industry, and last and certainly not least how heterosexual men really need to rewrite their stories because if Drew was an openly gay man with so called 'feminine' attributes.....as per ushhhh, thank you Steph ❤

It always fascinates me that there are so many people who take it upon themselves to perpetuate and enforce societal “norms”. Haven’t we all heard stories like this, where someone persisted in spite of the opinions of others? I can’t imagine finding out that the negative thing I said about someone’s idea or dream discouraged the next big thing from ever happening.

The Drew Walls story is something new to my radar. The folks criticizing him is kind of weird. On Instagram, I get reels from men, specifically Black and mixed with Black men. Usually, it be “gymbro” type of videos. However, I’ve seen a few videos similar to Drew’s so it’s news to me. As for the “femininity” topic, it’s annoying how men can’t just be unique? How is this feminine? He’s just doing a vlog. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has to do with him being A Black man and being straight. Shaking my head🤦🏾♂️💯

People are just so mean for no reason. I'm sure that people who comment under his page are mostly other men because we can see men do homework, which may be why they triggered. I enjoy that kind of video vlog.
@graciemae48249 ай бұрын
@9:00 Yes, we can see that as misogyny because a lot of men tend to look down on women as inferior to men and so too the things women do; therefore, when a man does something normally done by women, those men use that as an opportunity to insult him. I think to those men, they don't really understand what masculinity is so their definition of masculinity is "not a woman or things women do." It's funny because several of those so-called feminine activities men don't do that women do is just because they're a lazy or a low-effort individual, not because they're some masculine man. Like how you pointed out how making a vlog is actually a lot of work and it's mostly women that do them. I'm happy Drew didn't let the hate stop him from doing his vlogs and it's great how he got the sponsorships.

I wanna speak from two perspectives! An avid watcher and subscriber of your content and a member of gen z. First, as an avid watcher, I’m not sure what went into the decision to take your face out of the thumbnail but I almost didn’t watch this video because I didn’t know it was yours. I’m not sure if maybe there’s some analytical perspective that shows your videos preform better like this but I thought I’d just drop my experience in case it’s something you’re paying attention to. Second, as a member of gen z who could be perceived as apart of the negative attention he received, I want to speak for what I think is a lot of us and say that I don’t think there was any super deep malicious intent to the negative consumption of his content. I never mocked or left any comments but I definitely did laugh at some of the discourse about it. Not because I think it’s feminine of him or to knock him down, I just thought it was corny. We tend to do that sometime. I think if you hyper fixate or focus on the reality of lifestyle content being created by anyone, not just him, it could be a little corny. I love it and I’m a consumer of it but yeah it’s a little funny thinking about someone waking up, doing their makeup, putting a camera out to film them and then fake waking up. It’s just a little silly haha. It’s unfortunate that he became the target of this universal thought on such a grand scale but I don’t think everyone just was out to see this man fail. (A quick example is one video where he’s standing like two inches from his tv watching a basketball game. I’m sorry but that’s just objectively hilarious lol)

I think this video has been shadow banned. It didnt even pop up on my feed, I had to come to your page and find it. How odd to SB a video about preserving with a hint of inspiration in the mix( is one way I interpreted it). Also, irl I understand where being different is seen as "weird". Gosh, I've been called weird all my life. How my chart is aligned, I just seem to not give a damn or don't take the negatively to heart 😂. As much as I've been told I'm weird and "Why am I like that" the more I've been complemented chyl. The ones who did the "Drew Challenge" I'm betting are the ones who really want to make that content but feel ashamed and embarrassed due to other men being misogynistic smh.
