I agree, yes to the graphics.. And to be honest - I'm glad this isn't a 'nut n bolt' restoration. Although that can result in an amazing vehicle... it would likely result in someone not wanting to drive it - for fear of diminishing the value. Cars should be driven - and this one is the perfect level of resto for that purpose!!

I had a 1984 Celica Supra that I bought used in 1985. I have always been a fan of Toyota (currently have a 1994 3x locked 80 series LC) and watching you revive this classic brought back a lot of memories. I really appreciate the time you've taken with this and your attention to the many factory or aftermarket period parts you've sourced for it. Whomever wins this will be very fortunate, not just because of the car it is, but because of the care you've taken with it. Nicely done!

My vote is to go all in with the eighties vibe and add those side stripes. They accentuate the sexy lines that blend in the black on blackness and complete the look. That's a car that's going to turn a lot of heads on the road. I'm not usually a fan of personalized license plates, but this car begs to have a clever themed plate. Sarah, you've done amazing work with this one!

There are going to be a lot of brokenhearted people that didn't win this beautiful tribute to Japanese sports cars of the 80s (sounds like maybe yourself included). You have a created a true masterpiece here and I would argue that as the automotive artist you are, you are indeed truly special. Graphics, or no, (I'd vote "yes", for sure), your work on this car has turned it into one the finest surviving examples on the planet. Thank you for the awesome content - keep up the great work!

As a mechanic myself, engineering graduate, and a person who has entered to the give-a-way for this toyota, it would be a pleasure to own and take care of this rare machine and keep it showing off old toyota glory. I just bought a 86 toyota pick up for my brother in january, replace the headgasket, tires, rear drum brakes and all of the steering components for it. It runs like a champ and is rust free beside the fire wall from the clutch master cylinder leaking down the inside of the cab. I have worked on this old toyota for weeks, and watching you go through pretty much everything, it looks and probably drives perfects from your work. Congrats to who ever wins it though.

On the lift (scrunchy back) issue Sarah, get a couple barstools (which are usually at about 4 ft tall) and add wheels of choice to. The garage stools and seats you see a lot of the time are just a bit short to be useful when the car is 6ft off the ground. That car sounds great. That car looks great. You are truly something else Sarah.

my concern, on adding the graphics to the sides, is the balance in colors for the entire car. Right now, the only nickel/chrome item on the car are the wheels, which is not too bad because the rest of the car is a neutral color - black. With adding the stripes that match the rest of the gold badging of the car, the rims will stand out as an odd choice of color for the rest of the car. Just my opinion, which gets varying miles.

I kinda debated the side decals, but without them the car is too plain on the side. Being of gold color on the black, a popular combo of the 80's (think John Player Special F1 cars) it is right. The fluid changes, a new radiator, new and safer brake parts are all the right things to do to this car. I hope the winner gives it the love you have given it. I will be interesting to see your 80's inspired playlist. Guess we got hints with Dire Straits (one of my favorite groups), Van Halen and other 'metal' groups.
