Good work man but I'm really struggling to figure out your tabs. I don't get your little marks and lines. Bit confusing
@franskuijpersguitarlessons6 жыл бұрын
They can be confusing. I'm writing between 7 lines (=6 spaces representing the guitar strings). The numbers with a little bar behind are thumb picks. Hope this answers your question. Otherwise, feel free to ask. Greetings Frans

Thanks man just not used to your style I guess haha. I'll give it a go!

@@2nsane2005 Dont look at the lines, look at the blank spaces between the lines as the actual strings. I think thats where it gets confusing.

@@franskuijpersguitarlessons How do you reckon the slide guitar has been tuned on this one?
@franskuijpersguitarlessons5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gordon, Slide guitars have often open tunings. The song is played in the D chord (=C chord with Capo 2nd fret). So In this case I would choose Open D (D-A-D-F#-A-D). Hope this will work for you. Greetings Frans

Damn I used to study classical guitar and I never learned this picking style. Is it from bluegrass? It’s tricky 😅
@franskuijpersguitarlessons9 ай бұрын
Yes it is. John plays it (right hand) with two fingers (thumb and index), and I play it with three (thumb-index-middle). Don't forget to look at the slow played parts further on in the video and the close ups. They give a good idea about the picking. Good luck. Greetings Frans

Is this a okay song for a beginner to try and learn ?
@franskuijpersguitarlessons4 жыл бұрын
It's not easy to play, but if you like it, you have to try. Take your time and look at the slow played Verse. If you feel that you make no progress after some days it's better to take an easier song. Good luck. Frans

Hi Nils, I was curious and googled. Are you the Nils with Bonzai, the parrot, and more of course? And yes, I would like some help with the video's. My daughter also said that they're out of time. But it also frightens me, because now I'm working in my comfort zone, easy and fast. And I don't want to loose that. At the other hand, I'm using moviemaker, an old google program, and when my computer is finished, that program will be too. So I have to update. I live in Nijmegen.

The finger picking part made no sense to me you really skimmed over it to quickly
@franskuijpersguitarlessons5 жыл бұрын
Yes it is quickly. John is a Travis Picker. He picks with his thumb and index finger. So after every thumb pick follows a index finger pick. You can also choose to Folk Picking, with 3 fingers. If you look at the slow played Tab (At 4.10 Tab Verse 1 slow) you see notes with a bar behind them. Those are thumb picks (bass picks). If you don't know this way of picking, just try. It sounds nice. Hop this will help you to figure it out. Greetings Frans
