the word I feel in almost every space today is "oversaturated" - social media is oversaturated, physical STUFF is oversaturated, hyper-individuality, discourse, "characters" and etcetera. And I am somebody who can't keep up anymore. if you accept that something just isn't for you, and stop putting value on it as though eventually you'll just care and flip a switch to be invested, you'll feel more free. I'm trying to connect to my inner un-healed child by reducing my social media to just youtube, and used as a tool, and try to live more in the real world in a way that aligns with today's standards & being an adult w responsibilities. In other words: very intentional. And I don't think intention is something always present when we're societally online or stuck in cycles of overconsumption as a society. I am by no means this great perfect person, I simply hope everyone can reevaluate their relationship with screens and create a new way to use them that is intentional and serves them.

I want to be a minimalist so bad ! Realizing if I truly put my belongings in boxes , I probably wouldn’t even use more than half.

I think I’ve been one all my life. Ppl would come to my apartment and ask where are the decorations and etc. I honestly don’t like a lot of stuff around me.

@@shelbyspellman3046 girl I want my life to be so simple it’s already enough around me you know. Even the little stuff I have now I don’t use so I’ve been taking stuff to the homeless shelters. You can definitely be a minimalist 💕

I remember back in middle school , we weren’t “cool” if we only had like 1 week worth of clothes and kept rotating . Other kids had like 2-4 weeks worth more than I did and I remember feeling like I wish I had more clothes. I see now that you make due with what you gave and that’s what I do now , UNTIL I am able to afford getting a shirt or pants here and there

I used to have hoarding tendencies and over the years have decluttered so much and still continue to struggle a bit from time to time of letting go due to emotional attachments. But as I've gotten older and live in a smaller place, it's and have cultivated my hobbies and interests, it's become so much easier to look at something and ask myself if someone would "enjoy and value it more?" Letting go of stuff really helps to ease the mind of visual clutter and allow more room for growth to happen in your life. Love this topic that you spoke on, you have such a poetic way of conveying what so many people should learn.

I relate to your comment a lot. For me this is also how I recently discovered my own meaning to eventually get tattoos - it's something I can never leave behind but doesn't take up my space; I can have an emotional-comfort-something literally just on my body to take with me and that's cool.

I am tired of running away from myself. When I was younger and I felt this emptiness and thought I could fill it with desires and fantasies, I look on that now and realize that all that meant for me was that I just wanted to feel present in my body, mind and soul. I wanted to feel alive and didn’t understand why I couldn’t feel it even though I knew I was alive and breathing. I felt so hollow and was convinced just like so many of us that things, people, even simple “fun” could fill that void. I’m 26 and I’m on a journey of coming back home to myself.

perfect timing with this message! currently i am moving to a new city and going through my belongings. i am realizing how much stuff i have and actually dont need. i was told i needed these things, but after a while they stop serving me. i'm going to be leaning more into minimalism now because experiences matter way more than material things.

I needed to hear this. This video confirmed my thoughts and where I'm at mentally, physically & emotionally. I recently implemented this concept in my everyday life. I used to buy clothes and things to fill a void. A void that I was running from for so long. Having something new every week made me feel good. But after years of doing it, I am now at a place where I have too much and get overwhelmed determining what is needed and isn't, what to wear, etc. This year, I've sold more things online, which feels really good. I have no desire to replace it with something else. And I'm not obsessing over the price. Me selling the items is what counts most. I am enough. I have enough. I will be enough, to myself and orhers.

I definitely needed this video. Sitting here watching and crying because this is my life right now. I feel like I have to buy the newest trend because it’ll give me a sense of satisfaction. But it never does and it’s always something else to buy the fulfillment/peace of mind is nonexistent. Im unlearning this habit slowly and also learning to love and be patient with myself. Thank you.

I first got introduced to your channel when you went by plant princess and i have been loving your videos ever since.Just your voice brings me a level of comfort. Thats so true, when I am running away from my self ,I tend to make a lot of impulse purchases hoping that they will make me feel better, it never works . Sometimes sitting with your self is scary and sometimes our feelings just want to be acknowledged.
