Good video and quite refreshing to listen to a man's man articulate. FWIW, one slightly overlooked item is that the smart controller is incuded in the Cine version for the xtra $2K and not included in the lesser two packages. I'm going to pickup the Cine just so I can play around with 422 in Premiere Pro. Up til now I have only worked with 264.
@Michael_Galgano2 жыл бұрын
With drones it's hard to find anything other than say the inspire series that shoots something other than h2.64 and h2.65. You really need to look at dynamic range and color bit depth as h2.64 and 2.65 have come a long, long way in what they can handle.

ProRes is an Intra frame (every frame is it’s own entity) codec and H.265 is an inter frame codec (has key frames every so many frames and only calculates the changes in between) so in theory the ProRes should hold up the fine detail in trees quite a bit better, it should also grade better due to the higher bit rate.

Once uploaded to KZbin or streaming services it’s negligible to the “average joe pilot” I use ProRes on my Cinelifters just for the reason that capturing more information allows me to reduce the jello.

For this reason, if I were getting this drone, I would go with the regular version. I don’t generally edit on FCP. I’m also no professional. Bummer about the remote, but it is what it is. I noticed you mentioned prores is 10 bit. The M3 does do 10bit with the h265/h264 right? I’m also concerned with the fact that if I do throw it in LumaFusion, it is compressed a SECOND time. Which would degrade quality. But like you, I simply don’t see the difference. Maybe in low light?

Hello! I would appreciate if anyone can help! Can I insert an external SD card to help with the limited 8gb of storage on the mavic 3? If so, say I insert a 64gb card and run out of room for footage during my session, and need to insert a new SD card. Am I able to take out the first SD card and immediately download it onto the computer? Also, when recording, I'm afraid my video will somehow split and some will be saved onto internal storage and some may be on my SD card. Can I make it to where it's all saved on the SD card to avoid getting split? Last question, for footage saved solely on the internal 8gb storage, if I want to upload this onto my laptop I have to have the whole drone plugged into my laptop right? THANK YOU!! !!

Unless you really really need prores 422 hq (gigantic file sizes), can't see too many people buying the cine version. For 5k vs 3k USD for the fly more combo of the regular version.
