Our cat was, for months, every morning, trying to leap, climb or otherwise get this bird that hung out on a corner of our roof. It was not unusual for our big dumb Labrador to be hanging around outside too. One morning while sipping coffee trying to wake up, I'm just staring out the window and see the Lab sits on his hind legs as dogs do, unaware he made the perfect ramp for the cat who seemingly came out of nowhere at full speed, launched up the dogs back and did a springboard jump off the dogs head to grab the bird off the corner of the roof. A feather fell perfectly on the dog's head who maintained the same happy dumb-dumb look on his face the entire time. It was a time I questioned whether or not I was actually awake or still in a dream but I really did see that.

I guess cats nowadays forgot they are cats xD I mean, my friend has a cat and she treats her like a baby... the cat thinks she is one of our kind xD So, I guess if a cat is raised without knowing he/she is a cat... then it's normal that those cats were afraid of a rat hahaha

Chicken can fly a little bit, especially if they have not had their flight feathers cut or they grew back. Its quite possible one could fly up onto an eight foot fence, and then down into the garden. Especially if there was a tabke ir something on the other side do they could do it in 2 shorter flights.

Chicken in your yard? Our back yard is fenced with 5 ft. high redwood boards - California Monterey Bay area. We found about 4 bantam chickens in the yard one morning. I chased them and they tried to flutter over the fence but only got high enough to grab the top of the fence with their beaks and kept flapping their wings until they finally managed to get out. My video camera was inside the house (bad luck). Next, a year or two later, my wife heard a strange noise out back. I went out, grabbed a long handle shovel for self defense. A peacock came from behind a big flower bush and spread its tail feathers. Impressive, and then it seemed to give a hop and over the fence -- gone. We live in a subdivision. Where did these birds come from? Finally, a few years ago another bantam rooster showed up in our back yard. He seemed to like our yard so the next day I put out a little bowl of water and some white rice. He liked that too. After a few days I got near enough to grab him and I threw him into the air to fly home. He just flew in a circle and landed back in our yard. He must have liked the rice. He would sleep in one of our ornamental bushes or on top of our little generator next to our back door. Finally, one morning I went out with some rice but didn't see him. I searched the yard and then saw his little head in the grass and a wing a few feet away and part of his carcass a few more feet away. It's tough living in the wild subdivisions.

It was really hot after all. They came back because cops were called about the horses. Apparently these guys put the horses there because they weren't allowed to ride them in the road with the cars. They had someone pick them up, went shopping, and then came back to the SAME cops that warned them not to ride the horses in the road. Just why Florida? 🤦♀️

Only a few cats hunt rats. When rats have nowhere to go they turn towards the hunter and jump in their face to land some bits. Cats get confused that the prey stopped running and they also want to avoid getting bitten by a rat. These bits can get nasty infections. Only cats where the mother brought rats will succesfully hunt rats later in life
