She didn’t issue a blanket statement about either group. She condemned the violence from both. Her answer to the direct question of whether or not she believed complaining parents were domestic terrorists was “No.” It’s not her fault that Mr. Cruz was testifying rather than actually listening to her answers. She gave thoughtful, reasonable, nuanced answers but that doesn’t work for sound bites and fundraising so Mr. Cruz decided to mischaracterize her statements while he was “questioning” her (actually testifying himself). These are not simple issues and so a simple answer would not be appropriate. Complexity is not a vice.
