I run 1x on my roadbike too, with Alugear on Ultegra 165mm cranks (somehow the chainline is better than with 1x SRAM cranks). I have SRAM Rival 11 speed and xx1 chain is indeed the optimal solution. Tried different chains, Flattop, KMC 1x, and XX1 felt the best at extremes of the cassette. Not a huge fan of SL8 but i'm digging the stormtrooper look.
@jtho279 ай бұрын
Have the same experience. Alugear chainring is more noisy than Sram. I don't know but the size and shape of the teeht resonating with that arochainring is a bit much takatakataka for me when going to the extrems of the casette. The Chainline seems to be a little more outward too...
@super8hell9 ай бұрын
@@jtho27 I agree about the slightly more outwards chainline. My suspicion is that the teeth on alugear are also slightly thicker and longer. This and and the subpotimal chainline creates the racket especially on the easiest gear (50-42 in my case). Never dropped the chain though.

The SWorks they wouldn't dare give you a miscolored spacer, but the Pro they would? That doesn't make any sense, the spacers should be a common part bin part, they clearly had a bad batch run and I would imagine some SWorks bikes probably also got the same almost black spacers, assuming they all are boxed in the same factory. This is a slick build. I have a special place in my heart for white bikes. My first road bike was white with exposed carbon fiber and I went with similar setup for my Colnago. I'm trying to find an excuse to buy those wheels.

Are these integrated cabling bikes compatible with ordinary stems and bars? The reason I'm asking is because I want to know whether you can ride these bikes with an ordinary cockpit setup, and extra hose and cable length externally routed along the bars and headtube, so as to be able to try different positions by swapping out the stem and spacers and doing test rides. Once I'm sure of the right position I'd order the right integrated bar and route the hoses through as shown here.
@yonglingng56409 ай бұрын
It all depends on the bike's spacer kit. If it was designed to be cockpit-universal, then that model can take any cockpit. Some examples include: Specialized Tarmac SL7 Third-generation Venge Second-generation Allez Sprint Trek 2021+ Émonda Second-generation Émonda ALR Sixth-generation Madone (only if it's running the Émonda's spacer kit) Cervélo Second-generation Soloist Any model with integrated internal routing with an FSA-branded headset (cockpit-universal FSA spacer kit sold separately with some models)
