If anything I’d argue that it was based on how much Hank thought of Walt. He clearly thought of Walt as a brother and it didn’t cross his mind that this mild mannered meek man who deeply cared for his family could be such a vile human being.

I can see if Hank looks past the missing lab equipment at his school, wanting to go on the meth lab bust, sudden "gambling winnings", associations with Jesse Pinkman, but that sketch of Heisenberg should've been a huge red flag

Walt got careless by telling Hank, Heisnberg was still out there. That's what put Hank onto Gus and really ruined the entire thing for everyone. Gus should have killed Walt when he was given the chance. Or just listened to Mike and stayed away

He had a minor suspicion, but it was cleared up by the Walt Whitman thing. At this point in time Walt is still a huge blind spot for Hank, he wants to reject the idea completely, and so he'll accept any explanation.
