All down to driving technique, knowledge of basic physics and experience. Key elements: tyre pressure, gear choice, acceleration and momentum. Flouring the accelerator and spinning the wheels digs the vehicle deeper in the sand. Low revs, quick change to higher gear, not spinning the wheels and keeping a low, steady pace. Having lived in Sweden for more than 50 years what includes driving in deep snow, icy roads and also mud ads to my experience.
