I remember my father playing this, he bought the album and I loved it, but this is my most favourite songs off the album. A very special thanks to my father who sadly has Parkinson’s, who introduced me to incredible music growing up in the eighties, born in 71 , I remember him buying Gary Numan album pleasure principle when I was 8 and to this day I’m still a fan of Gary Numan, and if there’s anyone out there that remembers the Canadian band Leyden Zar , my father also played that album constantly and I loved it. A very difficult album to find online. Thx dad for introducing and inspiring me to continue to listen to incredible music which led me to listening to obscure music.

PITY YOU was a track on 1981 DEVO record NEW TRADITIONALISTS as well. Toni was fully DEVO adjacent. She really was a studied entertainer.

Sadly underrated - this killer album is FABULOUS! Every cut! This sounds 10 times better than the already awesome LP version!! It looks like it has been remixed. Love it!

Well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I think she did a great job. Devo having a female "pitch" to it. :D Wonder what happens if she actually joined the band...hmm...

I read that Devo was actually the backing band on this track and the other Devo covers she did.

Devo backed Basil on their 3 songs she covered. Her version of this one actually predates Devo’s, meaning that it *is* the original.

Love both songs. Found this cover through Devo. I gotta say, this one is better. Both vocally and instrumentally. Hands down.
