7:28 I don't blame the gate or the person that did the job. There's this issue that's been creeping up lately that if there is an automatic gate and it comes down on a car, even if the car was supposed to stop, they driver can sue. So, they start putting extremely short arms on the gates. Lumber yards with outside lumber areas are where you'll see this the most because people just assume that the gate doesn't apply to them and they can run right through when the car in front of them goes. Ironically, I worked at a lumber yard that had the exact gate shown here and I was literally out changing arms at least once every couple of months because some dumbass wouldn't wait until the arm came down when the car in front of him left. I tried everything too, I put foam pads under it, I painted it yellow/black "zebra" stripes, I tried shorter and longer lengths, it was so tiring. I've also seen Menard's using extremely short gate arms too, they even drill holes in them so the arms break off easier and I watched one year as the arms got shorter and shorter.
