That's why they should pay first, in my neighborhood there's a really good fast food place and you have to do your order, pay and then you get a ticket with a number of your order, Wich you have to bring later when the food is done ofc. I'm 30 years old and have only once EVER forgot my wallet while visiting a store. Technicality because a day before I'd bought a new one and grabbed the old one by instinct lol of course it was at a Subway haha. The worker offered to let me take the food then come back to pay. Was like nah just hold onto it and I'll be back in like 10 minutes. Gave a 20 buck tip because that was all the cash I had in my wallet at the time and they were so cool about the whole situation lmao they could tell I was super embarrassed. Fun fact: I went on to visit this Subway twice a week or more for years. Everytime I'd come in they'd jokingly ask me if I had my wallet and would feign disappointment because of the 20 dollar tip I gave when I didn't. Best part is as of last year when I spoke to them they were close to purchasing their own franchise. Moved before then but according to a friend that still lives in that state they opened up their own place a town over and are doing very well

U should try my sub it's pretty good Italian herb and cheese, tuna, and Swiss cheese don't toast the sub then you'll get lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, spinache and then for sauces you'll need ranch, mayo, Honey mustard, Olive oil and vinegar it's good in my opinion.

I had been working at Dunkin Donuts and a woman at the drive thru ordered a sandwich, hash browns and a drink while I was by myself. After getting everything done as quickly as I could I got to the window and she wasn't there. Five minutes later I get a call from her saying she was getting it for her husband and then while in the drive thru he told her he changed his mind. Your stories made me think of this instance lol.

My mum likes to tell a little story from when she used to work in a Chinese restaurant. Two guys came in to eat, and all seemed well. Until after they finished eating their meals and it was time to pay. They claimed that they BOTH somehow left their wallets in their car. So one guy says he'll be right back, he'll just go get his wallet. My mum was onto them though, since she'd seen this happen before. Usually, one person goes out to "get the wallet", while the other stays at the table. The person that stays waits until the staff's back is turned and then they slip out too. So mum obviously didn't want this to happen. When the first guy went outside, she calmly walked over and sat at the table with the second guy. He asked what she was doing, and she just casually replied that she was waiting for his buddy to come back with the wallet. A couple of awkward moments pass, and the guy can't sneak out because my mum is literally *right* there, chilling at the table. After a bit, the first guy quietly peers in through the door with a confused look on his face. Seemingly wondering why his friend hadn't followed him out yet. My mum sees him and fake-innocently calls across the restaurant, "find it yet?". So the guy quickly ducks out of sight and comes back again a few minutes later...with his wallet 😂 They pay and leave without saying much, and all is well. My mum's got a few little stories like that from when she worked in that restaurant. This one seemed relevant though 😂
