Facebook marketplace is horrible at this taking down items that don't violate policy and then when you relist it violates their policy again, the platform does not keep track of what is approved. I had a book not allowed because I was told there was no item being sold, but it was a book, when I appeal it gets approved.

I recently had a bins find -- a "tactical pen" -- pulled from eBay. It's an ink pen that one could use for self-defense and to escape from a car that has become submerged (if you know how). You could also use practically ANY pen for self-defense (if you know how). It doesn't have a knife or even a sharp edge. It's a pen with a steel casing. There are far more dangerous things being sold by the thousands on eBay but they decide to pull an ink pen... okidoki.

Went out this weekend and we found a new inbox craft and barrel flatware set that should sell for around 75 to 80 and paid a dollar for it, and a really nice granny square Afghan with the black around the color like the Roseanne show blanket and it should sell around $50 maybe even more ,sold comps are 35 to 80. Found a bunch more to sell around 15 but those are two best ones and we paid two for the blanket and one for the flatware, we are pretty happy with that!

Hi Kevin! We have an eBay store, and I have also been a Mary Kay girl for 23 years. It does go against our agreement to the company that we sign as a consultant to sell on platforms like this. The reason is because the company is responsible if somebody has a reaction to the product Etc. They've also found counterfeit on sites like this from China. It gives the company a bad name as well as possible lawsuits. I'm totally OK not being able to sell it on here... it keeps the purity of the intent of the company in the 1st place. We have learned a ton from you and appreciate your content!

The material difference doesn’t have to be a physical difference - it can also apply to warranties or other services offered in addition to the product. In this instance, Mary Kay sponsors a complete satisfaction or money-back guarantee for each product (a written satisfaction guarantee must be given to the consumer, and honoured on request). I imagine Mary Kay could argue that this is in fact a material difference, as a reseller would not or could not provide this guarantee. Consultants also agree to handle and store the products as directed on the label/instructions/factsheets. This may not be the case when a reseller is selling the item, which they could argue harms their trademark.

I found 2 slightly different patterned absolutely gorgeous akro agate chocolate cream swirled juice pitchers at the auction a few years back. My kids helped unload the car & I kinda forgot what I had bought. I found them a year or 2 later completely broken in my garage from temperature fluctuations. 😔 I don't list very much even though I really should! I did list a few containers of Oil of Olay my kid gave me & they were taken down a month later for being expired. I didn't know unopened stuff like that even expires! I got stopped at Customs on the way back from the Caribbean once because I was carrying back a souvenir conch shell. Conch shells can be infectious with certain bacteria or parasites and have to be treated and coated with something before they’re allowed in the United States. In the islands, the locals will sell conch shells on the streets that they catch and eat the meat from. They’re not treated, and those are the ones prohibited from entering the United States. On the online sales sites, it may be an overabundance of caution. (For what it’s worth, I got to bring my conch shell home because it was purchased in a gift shop and had obviously been treated.)

In the 1970s, Florida banned the harvest of the queen conch due to over-fishing. To this day, it's a crime to harvest, kill or harm a live queen conch in Florida. It's also illegal to possess or transport a live queen conch, even if it was harvested outside the state. They are stretching it by taking down an empty shell

I also had a Queen Conch shell taken down. It is that type of conch that is now on the CITES list, normal conch shells found on the beaches here in the states are fine, but it seems the large shells from the Bahamas or "Queen" shells are not allowed on eBay. I still have it up on Mercari and lowered the price to try to get it gone.

The only time I ever had something taken down. I had a huge Princess House bowl or decorative dish, big thing. Taking it out of the box and taking pics and putting it back...what a pain. So, I used a pic from Princess House. I know.....shame on me! This was like 20 years ago. I haven't done anything like that since. I know on Ebay it isn't just AI, it's other sellers who are ticked that THEIR stuff got taken down when you are selling the same thing using the same "not compliant" wording in the title. So, they report you. I think they enjoy reporting.

I get media banned the most. I collect and resell exploitation movies and many other movies. Some of them though purchased through amazon or directly from the companies that distribute them are on eBay’s radar. eBay really needs to get their listing tool to catch stuff they don’t want on the front end. Then if it still gets listed they know the lister is skirting the rules. I take the stuff ebay takes down to Mercari and if they ban it then I go to posh.

Figure this one out: I got a "Diamond Art Kit" removed. It's like paint by number, only you used colored crystal stones and glue them to the canvas. Reason? It violated their DRUG policy. Seriously. I'm guess the word crystal got caught by AI.....so Swarovski is going to get banned next? Maybe crystal salt? Hmmm..... Most recent good buy? I got a few things at Peaches to Beaches, and I also recently attended an estate sale hosted by the Antique Nomad. Too hard to pick just one item, though. Thanks for sharing!

I also had a the same shell removed a couple weeks ago, The email I received said it was an endangered species. My listing was up for 2 weeks till it was removed. I feel like someone Is watching listings and turning them in. My thought. There were several listed and sold when I comped it, don't know if they snuck one through or if this just became an issue. bought the shell for $2 and thought I had a decent profit coming.

The silliest thing that eBay ever took down from me was my own extra high school yearbook. Because it contained the photo of a person who grew up to be a notorious criminal, they tagged it under some "promoting crime" policy.

I'm in the UK and just had 2 Mr Men (Children's series) mugs pulled under the VERO rules. There are still many of the same mugs listed, was I just unlucky? Funnily enough, the email I received one before the VERO email was from my local Ebay hub telling me that my item had just left the hub to my overseas customer. The item?...,a Mr Man mug! I was given an email address to make an appeal. Would this be worth it? PS, just got positive feedback from the overseas buyer.
