That tourist had no right to touch the horse, even if it was to “fix” the bridle, it’s not hers and you don’t touch other peoples’ horses unless you know both the owner/rider and the horse, same goes for feeding horses (I’m a horse owner and the amount of people that ignore the “do not feed” sign on the paddock fence is staggering). The horse was putting the shank of the Weymouth bit in it’s mouth on purpose. It’s chewing on it. It’s probably bored af standing there for an hour… or dreaming about taking a chunk out of a tourist lol

Nah, I don't care what her intent was. She had the audacity to not wait for her turn and overtake that kid. She touched the horse tack when it's basically common knowledge not to do so and even if she did not know, the sign next to the horse was right on her face. You'd think she'd have learned her lesson but if that wasn't enough, she stayed there and probably kept ranting afterwards, undermining that person for doing his job. No, she should NOT have talked to the guard first. First of all that is a soldier and that soldier is on DUTY. They are not there to chat with know-it-alls. They are not there to chat with anyone. The guards will not talk to you but . . . . they will scream at you if you are stupid. This is getting ridiculous the tourists are completely out of hand now and it is about time people were prevented from getting too close to guard and horse for good. This includes the gatemen and the guards in the tunnel even these poor chaps are molested and I really worry about how close people are allowed to get to them at all, all you need is a nutter with a knife or gun and that is the end of them. I know they are trained soldiers used to being in danger but on your home turf you should have the benefit of full protection at all times.

That horse plays with it's bit all the time. It likes to hook it's lip on the hardware and fiddle with it. The guard is fully aware of this. It would not have "been a courtesy" to try and tell the guard. You are not to distract the Royal Mounted Guard by attempting to speak to them - they will not speak to anyone except under the most extenuating circumstances and you can rest assured it would be a very LOUD talk and they will not answer you if you attempt to explain yourself. Normally a police officer will show up and escort anyone who the guard addresses away from the area. She got real lucky that day that she got away with not only touching the horse's equipment but standing there running her mouth afterward. The officers must have been busy dealing with some other ass and were out of earshot.

THe Guards care for their horses and there’s no way they would ever allow something to remain and seriously disturb the horse . On both a normal level and because a horse that’s disturbed by something like this will not be an easy, trusted , safe horse capable of performing the many duties they do perform with enjoyment . The wire attached to the bit is nearly in the horses mouth, the lady was right she doesn't however have the right to touch the horse, poor horse if the guard has to pull back the reins it will hurt the horses mouth. If someone had told her without trying to touch she could have pushed the emergency button to get someone out to fix it, it would only take a minute.

I don't know much about bridles, but I do know that if the guard didn't pay attention for another couple of seconds, she could have loosened it enough to either hurt the horse or let it fall. And with no bridle, there's little way to control a horse, which is dangerous for the horse, the rider, and every poor soul around them.
