Nice one Gary, this has always been one of my favourite Smiths songs. As a guitarist I’ve always loved playing this song, as you mention it sounds harder to play than it really is, I think down to the chord arpeggios and playing open strings in what would be a standard chord, taking the odd finger off opens up the chords giving lovely melodic tones and so effective which is typical of Johnny Marr’s style. Good tutorial for those who want to learn a fantastic song.

Thanks @the deadxtras9927, yes it’s a great song and if aim being really honest I don’t think I fully appreciated it at the time because as we can often do, I liked “the old stuff”, having been a fan for a while. Thanks so much for liking and commenting / supporting my channel and there’s more Smiths / Johnny Marr coming very soon…..😉🤓🎸👍🙏

That’s great to hear Gary. Please also consider some of Johnny Marr’s solo material as well. The Messenger is a fantastic album but there aren’t many good tutorials on KZbin. Regardless, thanks for your good work!

Ah thanks Talvisielu, I’m glad you like my channel and that you have subscribed. I love to hear comments like yours as I work so hard on my channel. Unloveable is a great suggestion thanks, I think it would be a good choice as it’s not an obvious one to chose. It’s not a song I have played before so I will look at it and see if I can work out what’s happening with the guitar. Thank you so much again for making contact and supporting my channel 🙏🤓🎸

Hey, you used the same Rickenbacker guitar which seemed to be the favourtie guitar by guitar play Scott Concepcion of new band THE LATHUMS. Their first 2 albums both went to No. 1 in the charts. And there a some Smiths comparabilities around....In the last promo videos of them I saw this exactly guitar: blue, and with the characteristic oval sickle cut upon the fretboard. And i really like the Smiths promo posters in the back. Originals? Or facsimiles...? Ah, seemed to be original otherwise you wouldn't have them framed, would you? ;-)

I’ll have a look at The Latham’s thanks Andre, yes it’s a Rickenbacker 360, more rounded edges than the 330. I think the colour was a limited edition and it’s called Midnight Blue. And yes the posters are original from Rough Trade! Thanks for getting in touch 🤓🎸👍

All good thanks Jordan been busy with things here at home and hoping to do another video next week.
