The feeling when you cleaned your house before you went away for vacation and you “come home to a clean house.” My wife loves that.

This is hysterical as it is so true. What's funny is when my daughters were very little they asked me when they would know they were an adult. My reply was, "when you WANT to take a nap". They still talk about that and say how true it is today.

But I remember taking voluntarily naps already as teenager and I was definitely not an adult. Not being a kid, sure, but not an adult.

I can relate. When all the cleaning is done, it feels like a new house. And then you remember that people keep wearing clothes. They keep putting them in the wash. And the whole day will be repeated. Every. Month.

So true! 😆 you know you're an adult when you can't wait to go pull weeds out of your garden and flower beds, and spending the rest of the day cleaning your yard and planting more stuff to take care of, because at the end of the day it's so beautiful and satisfying. Who cares if your back, knees and rest of your body hurts, at least you'll be sleeping like a baby that night. I mean, what a workout, definitely achieved something. Right.😁

Yes...I was so excited in early pandemic when my vacuum cleaner died and I bought a new one...to see the difference a new vacuum made was incredible! Also clean sheet day is amazing. With organization comes labeling all the boxes, my family mocks me that all my 3 year old's toys have labeled totes... Coming from Wegmans homeland I cannot say that a new store opening is that exciting here, but to see the joy it brings other cities warms my heart.

My young adult children (who live at home) bought me a vacuum cleaner for Christmas. I was so happy that I actually cried. However it was pointed out that they could buy the vacuum and I would be happy but if my husband had bought me the vacuum, that would not have been a good thing.

And I can relate to all the cleaning stuff. I like to pause and admire my handiwork (in the split second before the dogs breathe and more hair falls to the floor) My faves were the pothole story and the last thing about clean sheets... I was--legit--*giddy" after a pothole by our house was fixed like 💥BOOM!💥 only days after I mentioned it (to a friend I found worked for the city). And clean sheets?? Aaahhhh! They're even better if you shower and shave your legs right before going to bed... 😌😆

At age 56, I finally came clean with myself. It was actually really freeing. I admitted to ME that I dislike housework and I abhor doing laundry (and it show, I'm afraid). I do it regularly as I always have. But I really have better things to do with my time. ADHD does not help with this at all. However--I still get excited about new appliances (got a new dishwasher a month ago and OMG!!!! It's the best ever). And I do love it when I find a mop or broom that does the job I need it to do.

Clean sheets really are the best! And I'm really kind of sad that I didn't keep all the Doc Marten boots I had back in college because they are back in style now... but then I'd probably just look like some lady in her 40's trying too hard to be cool if I wore them. LOL

I snorted when Kim said don't you love clean sheet day. I love clean sheet day, too. It's magical how wonderful clean sheets are.

Really cleaning and getting rid of things just soothes something in my soul. It's a very good feeling. It keeps that anxiety monster at bay 🙃

So true. I cleaned the garage and basement yesterday, and took two van loads full of donations to the thrift store. I told my husband that I felt like my soul was finally clean. My family looked at me like I was crazy.

I love this so much! The only thing I can't relate to is the smell of mulch. I absolutely HATE yard work. But everything else, oh my gosh...so very true.

I'm so glad I'm not alone. I actually once took three days off work for my birthday and stayed home just to organize and get rid of stuff. My friends looked at me like I was nuts when I told them how happy it made me lol. Best birthday gift I ever gave myself!
