TOTALLY agree!!! I'm so glad that Christianity is not a RELIGION, it's a Choice. To be a Christian is to be a "follower" of Christ. The first Believers were not even called "Christians", but followers of "the Way". *John 14:6 (nkjv)* _6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me._ REFERENCES TO "THE WAY" IN THE BIBLE Acts 9:2 (nkjv) 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Acts 24:14 (nkjv) 14 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. All religions of "the world", esteem their own traditions over the Word of God. Christianity is a CHOICE, "Who do you say that I am?", Jesus is asking. Our faith is not based on who others say Christ is, but Whom we Profess Him to be, according to His Word. *Romans 10:9-10 (nkjv)* _9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation._

We are not sinners because we sin, we sin because we are sinners. If a man (woman) says they have never done wrong/sinned they are a liar, and the truth (Jesus Christ) is not in them. We fail as born-again believers to love unconditionally, with an unfailing, everlasting, perfect love because the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. We are not saved because of our performance (behavior) we are saved because of the blood and the finished work that Christ Jesus completed on the cross. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.:

If the Christians I'd lived among for years, worshipped with, gone on ministry trips with, loved, and followed Christ with, had actually followed the basic things they claim they believe, I'd never had starting reading Dawkins. Once I started down that path, it was all over, the fabric unraveled and I became an atheist. I guess you can be a theist and state 'I believe a god made the universe, but I also believe that god does not even know we're here and doesn't care'... for practical purposes, that's an atheist I guess? at least not a christian? Do you not know that you will stand before Him? Do you not know that hell is real? In 1999, two boys entered their high school, point-blank executed their classmates, then took their own lives. Are they blissfully 'sleeping' now? Is there no consciousness after death? Is there no justice for these two boys who left a nation reeling with shock and grief? Is there no justice? I am not the judge, but my best guess is that you, who have libeled God, will be in worse shape than these two boys on judgment day. We have to recognize, especially in the U.S.A., there is every variety, every sort of Christianity, to the extent that faith communities view each other in error and doctrinally more perfect for all sorts of reasons. That applies also to how the doctrine of sin is handled. I have to admit, that the concept of sin and the concept of a loving God is problematic related to mental health and human suffering. Where was God when my mother was raped? Ah, free will that God so highly respects. Free will of the perpetrator. But how about the free will of the victim? My mother did not consent to being raped. Children are not consenting to being abused. I find the variety of authors on KZbin on the issue of God/god and religion enlightening and important no matter how visceral the might be.

The smugness of preachers and the ghastly quality of Christian music didn’t help. Glad to be done with it.

As Christians, we do not receive our faith from preachers, or teachers, for we have one Instructor, and that is Jesus Christ. We build our faith on His Word, alone, that we may judge the world, and the church by His Word, that we, individually, may remain in conformity to Christ, long after the church has fallen asleep. ...but if we judge the Word of God by the world, then the Truth will sound foreign to us, and unrecognizable.

I was raised in the "non-denominational" Christian church. To be fair, my pastors never stooped down to the whole angry God preaching, though I did run into a few baptists that did. Overall, most people I met in my church were welcoming and tolerant of different people and they tried to embody the loving side of God. I respect them for that. I stopped believing in the Christian God after reading the Bible for the umpteenth time. The older I get and the more I think about the Bible, the more ridiculous it seems to me that it's the word of God. All the inconsistencies contained therein really turned me away. Your video comes at an interesting time for me. I've just come to peace with my sexuality after years of suppressing it because the Bible says I should. I've had people in the church tell me that the only reason that I left was so that I could partake in "depravity". The truth is, I started living authentically because I don't believe in this BS. I didn't leave just so that I could sleep with 20 different people each weekend. Even now, my life actually hasn't changed that much since leaving. I'm still gainfully employed. I still like to run, read, draw, and write in my free time. I'm not even making homoerotic or "edgy" art. And I'm certainly NOT sleeping with 20 people every weekend, though if other people want to, that's their choice. Anyway, I really appreciate these videos, especially this one. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who had an issue with what the Bible classifies as sin.

Hey Kristi. I am now a new atheist and no longer a Christian. I have deconstructed fully after an eye-opening investigation and some self-reflection into my beliefs with my non-Christian parents. My Mom calls herself a Christian that only focuses on the virtuous parts of the Bible and nothing else, and I don’t blame her for that. I have found freedom in thinking for myself and being my true and connected to myself. I realize how indoctrinated and simple-minded I was. I’m free from that now and am more spiritually inclined without the idea of a God, and most certainly not the Christian God. I’ve just acknowledged that I do not know where I’ll end up after I die. I just want to be a good person and send a positive message or messages to everyone I encounter on a daily basis. No matter what, always keep pushing to do that, even when things don’t go as planned in life. Have a stoic mindset about it, and be open to critical thinking and flexibility which the Christians hate

Good on you mate, So now .. As a 50 year old who has seen a lot in life. I was once an ordained minister, I no longer am. I left it way way before you did. In my case, I gave my life to god, so much so that i gave up $50,000 went to uni, got a degree, All to get into the church and.. it wasn't a total waste because you do learn a lot of shit while there and you do have access to resources and people that normal people would not have access to. the irony is, This level of access showed me the following 1. I'm not going to say , God doesn't exist, We don't know if he exists and that's the only truth on that topic. This may be because he doesn't exist, it may be that he does BUT HE DOESN'T WANT US TO KNOW, in which case we are not doing anything wrong. I'll expand on this later 2. But i was certainly not going to find god in the church 3. None of the ministers knew whether god existed or not, Most of there because they were forced to be, some were there because they wanted to be and others were just in a frame of mind that kept them there, sort of cruising along if you will I learned the following - Jesus did actually and historically live, There was a birth , There was him starting christianity , There was the crucifixion that all happened - There are no miracles, You drill down further and more complex and later when you are old enough YOU FIND OUT HOW TO SIMPLIFY THIS SUBJECT and i'll show you how.. 1. You Learn MOSES NEVER EXISTED. Christians will defend this BUT IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE HERE IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT 2. Did man receive god's laws ? Well..... Point 1 - Historically Moses (Whether existing or not) NEVER ENTERED THE HOUSE OF EGYPT, There is literally nothing to be found of him in the house of egypt, as an infant, a child, a teen or a man, that decree of Seti i ..... We have things on Seti, THAT DECREE WAS NEVER SET FORTH so.. Moses didn't live in the house of egypt as such The slaves could not have been freed As such He didn't take them to the mountain As such He didn't climb the mountain Nor pass the commandements to the people MOSES IS CREDITED WITH WRITING THE FIRST BOOKS OF THE BIBLE the bible every christian holds today (we won't say... is bullshit) we will say.... IS NOT GOD'S WORD Because Moses never passed it onto man MAN NEVER RECEIVED GOD'S WORD, THAT NEVER HAPPENED Now... When you do your Uni course to be a minister we are actually taught this, We are actually taught that the church created the original bible . so now if a christian defends that 1. They can't because it's the decree of the Holy church, They are wrong and their opinion is irrelevant on the subject of religion because the church makes the rules 2. But we need merely ask this question IS THE BIBLE THE WORD OF GOD ? and the answer is simple and so is the proof Answer : No it's not The Proof : Find the Source and ask them. I've done this, it's interesting, You should try it Get a bible, any bible, Find the publisher (The company that literally BROUGHT THAT BOOK INTO EXISTENCE) Call them and ask them these questions 1. is this your bible ? 2. is this bible LITERALLY the actual words of god ? They will say NO (and there's your answer) but they will defend their point as follows it's the INSPIRED WORD OF GOD so you ask 3. OK, Where did you get your inspiration from ? was god literally there ? Did you get your inspiration from god himself or a person or other books. THE ANSWER IS... We have derived inspiration from other bibles so basically they have picked and chosen bits from here and there and everywhere... 4. Last Question.... OK, So once your original book was written , Other than Translation or the cover, HAS IT EVER BEEN CHANGED ? The answer is YES IT HAS and we reserve the right to change it without notification NOW HERE IS WHAT I WANT YOU TO THINK ABOUT.... 1. We ABSOLUTELY KNOW The bible IS NOT God's word (that's not even a question anymore) it's more of a question, does the christian have the nut sack to make the phone call. 2. We know Jesus existed (No Miracles) but... he did exist 3. We don't know if god exists BUT THERE'S MORE 4. AS A FACT....... RELIGION IS A FILTHY , VILE AND DISGUSTING THING Now let's explore, What if God does exist WELL...... 1. If he does and he doesn't want us to know because it's .. Let's say a test to get into heaven or some other reserved special space then... Following religion and reading a word that is not his word IS GOING TO PISS HIM OFF, and get you excluded 2. You need to make a separation between THE BIBLE RELIGION GOD Being Fair..... We shouldn't tarnish the reputation of god (Should he exist) Because all that bullshit in the bible IS NOT WHAT HE ACTUALLY SAID. so i wouldn't dismiss the idea of god I wouldn't spend my life looking for him either.. I DID IT FOR A LITTLE OVER 20 YEARS.... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, Life is precious 3. We shouldn't introduce children to religion and philosophy. their brains are not developed enough until the age of 25 let's say, to comprhend it and make a choice, Religion before the age of 25 should be banned altogether 4. BASICALLY IT COMES DOWN TO WHAT YOU SAID.... LIVE YOUR LIFE AS A GOOD PERSON AND DO YOUR BEST I reckon if there is a day of judgement (and i don't think there is) but IF.... A Lot of christians are gonna get a rude shock because how do you explain to a supreme creator that you were following a word that was not his own when the world told you it wasn't his word VS Me and you and god asking, why did you do what you did? and we're like...... well.... we did our best and tried to be as honest as possible SO THERE YOU GO... A Few things to think about. Don't dismiss that there may be a god (i reckon there isn't) but don't dismiss, at the end of the day, we'll find out when he die... Maybe

ANSWER - All human beings have no immortal souls and will just become worthless and useless dusts on earth after their deaths just like the animals as written in Ecclesiastes 3: 19, 20 and 9: 5, 6 but worshippers of the Creator and followers of Jesus Christ who died recently and thousands of years ago will not remain as worthless and useless dusts on earth forever, instead, in the Creator's own right time and as written in John 11: 25, 26 all of them will be resurrected back to life by Jesus Christ so they can all have the Creator's favor and reward of ETERNAL LIFE and existence without sufferings, pains, griefs, sickness, and death on a safe and peaceful earth without liars, deceivers, slanderers, traitors, and murderers as written in Revelation 21: 3. 4, 8. Loving, kind, and respectful worshippers of the Creator like Abel, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Job, Naomi, Ruth, King David, Jesus Christ's disciples and followers, and many others will definitely live and exist on earth forever as submissive and obedient subjects of the "KINGDOM of GOD" and fully enjoy the eternal love, kindness, goodness, compassions, generosities, favors, and blessings of the Creator and his Christ for eternity under the loving and kind rulership, guidance, and protection of Jesus Christ as the Creator's Chosen King and Ruler of the heavens and the earth as written in Revelation 11: 15.

The fact is that for Abrahamic religions, sin is arbitrarily defined as doing the will of god (as stated in the various texts) not ethics or morality. That's why you can see the crazy stuff approved by god in those same books and why adherents of these religions can always fall back to the stance that "well, you may not be hurting anyone or yourself but the mere fact that you aren't living this otherwise benign and just life of yours for the sake of god means you're sinning". To them, an evil politician who embezzles the wealth of his/her country leading indirectly to the suffering and death of untold thousands of citizens is on the same level as an ethically upright person who "omits" god from his/her life. As they say "sin is sin". I don't even bother explaining myself as most of the time they don't really care to be objective about things.

To not want to be accountable to an imaginary genocidal maniac is a perfectly valid reason to leave Christianity.

All Humans need to repent & Believe in Jesus as their God. Why? Because all Humans have sinned (lied, lusted sexually, stolen, dishonoured parents etc). Avoid the fires of Hell (justice of God) and choose Heaven today. Jesus defeated death by rising from the dead. GOD IS HOLY

I agree that I would not want to be accountable to an imaginary, genocidal maniac! However, I am so grateful that God is not only good, but is merciful. For example, as described in the Bible, God did wipe out entire cultures. Yet, you can see the kindness of God in that, just one sin is enough to bring death and eternal hell. Is hell just? Picture that people live forever and that heaven is perfect. Since imperfect (can you say 'wicked') people cannot live in a perfect heaven, there has to be a hell for those who reject Christ's death on the Cross. It's like, we broke the law, but Jesus paid our fine. Yes, everyone dies. Yet, if you complain about God's wiping out entire cultures, know that there is no death in hell. People will live on their forever. Since God is love, people who have rejected God will live without any love, any justice, neither will they experience any goodness in hell. I urge you with all my soul: it is really, really dumb to libel God! It has a price tag that you won't be able to pay. Jesus loves you and is so good and kind. I hope you will make this right with God before you meet Him and He justly condemns you to hell. God is good. You are not. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

@@awakeningtovacuity8372 Hi. What parts of the Bible did I miss? I write these posts out of great concern. Are you a former 'Christian'? If you were to stand before God today (there are no guarantees any of us will see tomorrow), what do you think He would say to you? If you are a good person, you have nothing to worry about. Yet, if you have lied, stolen, or used God's Name in disrespect, don't you think you should be judged as a lying thief and a blasphemer? Should God not judge the world in righteousness? God is perfectly good and so is heaven. Do you not see that, if you have lied even once, you are not fit for paradise? You would be cast outside with all the other lying thieves. Heaven is real, but so is hell. If you disagree, what assurance do you have that your opinion is correct? Yet, I have what is called 'absolute assurance.' That is because God is real, the Bible is true, and I know Christ. He died on a Cross so that we may be friends with Him. If you reject Christ, He will not pull you into heaven by your ears! If you reject Him in this life, you will not know Him in the next. God is love and think about spending eternity without love! I hope that you have a good talk with God about this. You are in big danger of every secret thought of yours being brought out in a trial like no other. I hope you will make this right with God! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

Thank you Kristi for putting my exact thoughts in this video. It makes zero sense when Christians use the "you just want to sin" bit to manipulate/guilt/shame us all while, the salvation was a "safety net" if you will for sinning! Like literally they don't actually believe in accountability whatsoever! They blame everything on god or the devil. They think my "sin" is worse than theirs all because of their ability to repent. But, how is it "sin" when we don't believe in the bible therefore, we don't see "sin" the way they do and it's hard for them to wrap their minds around the fact that we just don't believe what they believe so it can't be used against us! If anything, I became a better person after I left Christianity! I'm more conscious of my behavior now than I did while being a Christian... I care about people, the planet, and animals... I'm more compassionate and willing to empathize than ever before! It's all just projection on their part and jealousy that we get to live in our truth while not being worried about the opinions of others meanwhile, their lives are scrutinized and analyzed under a microscope! Thank you for this timely video!!!

I know personally know Christians that admit they are living an immoral life but they reconcile it by saying they go to church every Sunday, and therefore, God will give them a pass for their bad behavior. You don't necessarily have to leave Christianity if all you want to do is 'sin' without accountability.

*1 John 1:6-7 (nkjv)* _6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin._ Just because we are Christians does not mean that we are immune to sin, for there is not a single just man who does good and does not sin. Grace would imply a decrease in sin, and not an increase. There are sins that God does not tolerate, and there is sin that does not lead to death. *1 John 5:16-17 (nkjv)* _16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. 17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death._ The sin that we should not pray about, is the "Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit", which will not be forgiven in this life, or that life which is to come. That is the "unforgivable sin".

People often say, “I’m not hurting anyone so it’s ok to sin (lying, stealing, sexual sins, disrespecting parents etc)” The same God who said to love your neighbour first said to love Him to the best of your ability. If you carry on sinning, then you do not love God but are selfish like the devil so you will be joined to your father in hell or repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as God so Jesus adopts you as His child and you will join Him in Heaven forever.

I've been an Atheist since I was about 7. I wasn't allowed to ask questions when I was sent to Sunday School. Nothing they were teaching, made sense. So, I asked questions, and was told NO ONE questioned the little black book. After about three weeks, I was sent to the pastor, and was told I could no longer come TO the SS class. When I asked why, he said I was a disruption, and now other kids were asking questions, so... When they were shoving "sin" down our throats, none of it made sense, and seemed rather mean. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that this "sin" bulls**t, was just like all the rest of the nonsense, and was all made up by man, to control the masses. When I was kicked out, and the pastor called my folks, they asked why I was being such a brat! I (somehow), calmly told them, that I didn't believe in ANY of the stuff I was being taught. That I thought it was all made up BS, and I wanted nothing to do with it. Luckily, my folks, even though they were Southern Baptist, just agreed, that there was no use in sending me to this church, or any other, so... Thus began my lifelong journey into Atheism. Been content ever since.

If something is true, why would it need to be protected from too much questions. In my experience, people only shield an idea from too much questioning because they know it won't stand up to scrutiny.

I deconverted after becoming aware of the many atrocious acts of God throughout the Bible as well as the numerous contradictions both internal and external.
