Excellent exploring, i loved every second of it. I truly love your style of "just wandering", taking things as they come, be curious what's around the next corner..... A true wanderer and wonderer.

I completed The Spit to Manly walk, with friends, the natural scenery was spectacular and the tiny beaches - fish and chips at Manly Wharf was my reward! It's a shame you didn't plan your exploration, there is far more of the Manly Quarantine Station nearby, it has great living history, spectacular views and a private beach - I have stayed there! The "paranonia" was realistic, my great uncle was an Airforce pilot who destroyed some of those minibsubs that entered Sydney Harbour in WW2! 🙋

Thanks for the additional tips and recommendations. I will admit it was fun to explore with minimal planning minus a quick glance at google maps. On my next visit will definitely plan more in advance check out what I missed the first time, especially interested to see more of the Quarantine Station and doing the whole Spit to Manly walk sounds awesome. Remarkable story about your great uncle too!

@Yotopian If you get the chance, do explore the Quarantine Station, they have preserved the original buildings and landscape, and even do Ghost tours - extraordinary! I hope you can enjoy more visits to Sydney, there is much more than you imagine! 🙋

For sure! There's so much more to see in Sydney, Australia, and the world for that matter. I've barely scratched the surface...

Wasn't too hot that day. I do always have a hat with me which I wore for part of day.

Thanks Mate. Quite interesting. the Japanese subs got down as far as Port Phillip Bay . I have some Japanese invasion money from previous generation. Feels unreel.

I don’t go to city beaches . I go to beaches at our national parks . Europe is even more crowded during high season . Same with the UK . I was at the mid north coast if NSW and we drove down a dirt track road and found a beach that we had all to ourselves .Lovely vlog thank you !

Hidden coves and beaches in national parks are really where it's at. Was interesting to see and tick off the popular tourist beaches but definitely not ideal places in my book

What is the wall for? It's to keep the rabbits out.

Interesting, thanks for clarifying. I live near the QLD/NSW border where we have the Darling Downs Moreton-Rabbit Board Fence, built to keep the rabbits out of QLD

Next time you visit the Northern Beaches, note the extensive bus services available, including to North Head, to save yourself some walking and to allow you to explore further. Just use your Opal Card or Credit card to tap on and tap off. Particularly effective if you see something interesting on your trip and want to investigate. Try a bus trip to Palm Beach and explore Barrenjoey Head and the Lighthouse.

I was more than happy to walk that day, especially after being cooped up in the XPT for 13 hours. Used buses a lot over the next few days of the trip. Sydney public transport is certainly very efficient. Next time I head down will definitely have to check out Palm Beach and Barrenjoey Head along with many other places I missed.

North Head NP also used to be Sydney's Quarantine Station . I don't know if the wall was meant to keep people in or out. The track was also notorious for a gay hate murder in the 1980s.

My departed friend Asher and I agree that you got wrong info about australian "colonisation". As the video keeps rolling I have time to add that balkan wolfs that have a party HSP represented by a wolf are heavily dispearsed in all major cities of Australia loyal to their flag and president Antoan Pavelic. That is one of the reasons God prevented me from visiting this beautiful distant mass of land that is Australia.
@LovingLife23113 күн бұрын
I don't know what you on about, as this is not a history channel and there was no real reference to colonisation apart from a statement saying " I can see why they chose this spot for colonisation ... ". This beautiful continent, just like the rest of the world has some very sad and dark history, but I dare to say we as humanity have to learn to get along and find out true selves again, live and let live. Peace to us all.
@Yotopian3 күн бұрын
All I said is that I understood why Europeans chose the greater Sydney area as the place to begin colonisation, referring to the immense strategic value of Sydney harbour. I never went into my opinion of the matter, nor what happened afterwards. Regarding the second part of your comment, I do not understand what you are referring to. Please elaborate and clarify.

Collins Beach is a harbour beach - no surf, no surf patrols needed, no flags. Clean, safe water perfect for a quick dip.

I grew up here and nothing has changed re people numbers. I hated Manly
@Yotopian2 күн бұрын
I understand the sentiment. Growing up on the Gold Coast I didn't much like the beach either apart from a few hidden spots. Like most locals always avoided touristy places like Surfers Paradise etc.

I cannot understand that negativity! Manly was where my mother and I went many weekends of summer on the ferry, it's barely changed and the atmosphere always makes me feel more free! Some of my favourite photos of her are kneeling barefoot building sandcastles there! The harbour trip is beautiful and it's a real city haven! 🤗
