He himself has not boasted about doing so just as you just did in your little rant ( which I hope you feel so much better now after doing so Jon, Do you Jon?) but was noticed by others who chose to boast about him... THANK YOU JON, thank you for all the charities you have helped with all the many marathons you have ran here's a medal 🥇 Fuck it here's 2 🏅🎖 do you feel good now?? Appreciated?? I don't know what you want from your comment but I do know 1 thing & that is you don't do charitable work to be patted on the back, be thanked or be known for it, you do such things to make the world a better place, so in my opinion everything you have ever done has just gone out the window as the jealousy & need for recognition pours out of your words Thanks Jon for your 2cents ( they weren't needed) BUT CAPTAIN TOM IS A BLOODY LEGEND IN MY EYES & I WILL REMEMBER THIS MAN TIL THE DAY I DIE #BANKHOLIDAY4TOM

But do just want to make clear that at no point in my reply did I patronise Captain Tom as if he were a child & have NOT a clue where you even got that from the whole entire point I've tried 2 make from my very 1st comment that YOU not me began to make out what Tom has done was not worth the attention or praise he was receiving because you had done more & could sing better 😂 was that Captain Tom is a Top Bloke .... & I hope you do get 2 sit down & have a pint with guy, maybe you would learn a few things from him ..... Please don't comment again you turned what I tried 2 be a nice comment in2 a stupid argument about you Thanks Jon & have a nice day 🙏

TeriXXXLouise God Almighty The point is he represents all these people who are doing great things for the country at this time and I think there should be a bank holiday to remember the people who stepped up during this time, he did a great thing and he is someone who people can look up to and he is an example of a person who we should be more like, it's not a competition or something people should be arguing about, that's childish.

What a man, what an indomitable spirit. I would feel small in his presence I am sure. The older generation that endured years of wartime will alas too soon all be gone, to be replaced by a generation of " me firsts" and "snowflakes" Many of us do not respect or appreciate what was given by that generation that went before us, I fear we will never see their equal. I don't refer to the arms forces when I say that, I mean the people of this country then and now. I would say something about the people who gave thumbs down to this but they are not worth the thought that would go into it.

Can I ask, if he didn't get the publicity and media hysteria and he struggled to raise £10 like the vast majority of people at his age would probably achieve, what would have impressed you most about his story?

Many young people are out there now during this epidemic, treating patients, driving ambulances, and working in supermarkets so us everyday folk can have what we need. Let's have respect and love for the wartime generation like Captain (now Colonel) Tom, but let's remember that there are so many selfless, brave and caring young people about right now too. They may not be fighting wars, but they're keeping this country going. So let's raise a glass to them, too.

Jolly Infidel No, the generations now as you’ve shown are ignorant, selfish, stuck up and unsupportive. You can’t seem to grasp the fact that these nurses and doctors have NEVER dealt with a pandemic. Yes, they were extremely busy at work before but during times like this it’ll be the worse thing they’ll experience. I would LOVE to see you work a day in an ICU like they are currently doing everyday, you simply couldn’t do it. These times are nothing like “their usually jobs” it’s chaotic, manic and devastating for everyone. Actually be human and realise they’re doing an amazing job protecting us during this whilst they are putting themselves and their families at risk. Start being grateful because one day we won’t have the NHS, and then that day will be a disaster. And it’ll be because of people like you being ungrateful.

My heart was heavy until I sat down to listen to this beautiful rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone". Casting my mind back a few days to when I first heard of Captain Tom Moore, something inside me knew that he'd complete his walk for the NHS. They don't make gentlemen like Captain Tom anymore. He did his charity walk with determination and a pure heart. He gave his all in the many years that he served Queen and country, just like he gave 100% of himself to complete his walk. May Captain Tom feel the love, love from all over the world, on his 100th birthday next week. God bless him and God bless all those who are doing so much assisting us through this hellish time.
