the problem is, eyja is really great to use even for nowdays gameplay so even if you need to deploy her it won't be a big issue since you can clear the wave faster. But things aren't like that with pepe, although she is good she isn't great enough to waste 1 of your deploy limit, if you play CC this will concern a lot

I'm mentioning FedEx because that first stage was the perfect FedEx map to make a side by side comparison. Pepe seems like Spalter where the devs have a module in mind and designed her specifically with it in mind. Spalter being a sidegrade at best to her 5 star guard form and even now "don't bother raising her if you don't plan for one of her tier 3 modules". I'm pulling because limited are a pain to get later, plus Narantuya is goated. If anything Pepe S1 looks interesting since we have had several cold/freeze stages in the past year with anni 27 being an upcoming freeze stage.

Ngl i kinda tired of that Spalter slander. Like have you actually used her? I did quite a lot, and from expirience i can say that she's WAY more universal and comfy then her 5* version. Her s2 immortality didn't get buff because it was strong enough already, and instead of block-count aoe she got true aoe in bigger range with speed debuff on doll. And that module argument bruh, sure it gives her more value compared to other operators, but don't you want to at least unlock module for operators you use and max it for those who you use often anyway? If you are late game docutah you kinda should have enough resourses for that, and if you aren't, then you shouldn't be able to clear content you need that module buff for anyway. When i maxed Spalter's module it wasn't because she was struggling without it, it was because i was impressed with her performance already.

Able to hit air will atleast get her bonus point on her. Currently the only meta ops that can lanehold that hit air is just degen (swordmaster is really good at mowing down low def mob with their double hit). There are non meta like qiubai (who can deal art which is not many 6 star laneholder can do) and thorn (high dps but low dph anti air with poison which perfect for dealing enemy that need multi hit requirement). Both stil provide unique stuff aside from air. Pepe s2 seems like bad copy of gavialter s2, and has too many downside which pretty questionale why her s3 cant even be turned off manually so dont need to wait the long time onskill hitting nothing

The random targeting makes sense given her archetype, even if it's ultimately more of a downside than an upside: since she does full damage to her main target and 50% to nearby targets, she can more efficiently clear a cluster of identical enemies by spreading out her attacks. That said, due to the other mechanics of the game (such as block count and enemies attacking back), it may still have been better for her to focus down one enemy at a time, even if that means it takes a little bit longer to fully clear a wave. Great video; the clears in question look like they did a great job highlighting her strengths and weaknesses. I liked the analysis (with just a minor quibble about making the comparison to Wis'adel... it's a good thing not every new operator is as good as Wis'adel... I think I personally would have pointed out how many Guards can help with anti-air duty) a lot. That said, she could be the worst operator in the game, and I'd still pull for one of Namie's kids.

We've been spoiled by all the operators who just ignore their class weaknesses, so people who think all but the top 10 operators in the game are worthless can't overlook things like that. Wisadel can hit air, Degen's best skill isn't offensive charging, Ulpianus has Defense... the bar has been raised to only include operators who don't have any weaknesses, not even weaknesses inherent to their class or archetype.

Exactly all of the traits that are useful about defense. It just _also_ works against arts and true damage and lets you turn DoT effects into free healing.

Ok so I'm a bit torn and I'd love some opinions. I could not care less about pepe, her design doesn't intrest me, her kit doesn't intrest me and her personality also doesn't interest me. However, I have 300 pulls saved up and I absolutely want Gavial the invincible. I love gavial and I don't want too miss the opportunity to get her. But I also wanna get pot 6 lappland alter. Most of these "weaknesses" are only relevant for low op clears or super high end content. Like yes, wow, a guard cant hit air...its almost like thats normal for the vast majority of guards. We have snipers made specifically for that purpose. Oh no, she has no utility and only does damage...just like most of the other guards as well. Most ops dont have crowd control or some other utility AND uber DPS

Well, the main thing abt most of the melee ops is they can only target ground units...so expecting Pepe's S2 to be able to damage the aerial enemies is just not a real reason lol...if i want to deal with drones, best believe I'll be using ops that can ACTUALLY deal with drones. S2 for me is definitely useful as a nuke options for those pesky enemies that needs to be neutralized ASAP, like chen, or degen, or gavialter, or anyone rly. Not the best nuke option for late game players, but comes in handy for players who lack of options for nuking the enemies. And that brings me to S3, which i consider is good...probly on par with S3 Wisadel nuke but without ammo gimmick

Compared to current meta she isn't really close to the top, but significantly weaker operators already trivialise the game. In my book she's definitely strong enough to get and build, though doesn't feel like a very important operator to get either. I will personally skip the banner in favour of Lappy and Marcille since I am left broke after pot5 Logoat and Ulpibaenus.

@@Storn_ I can see your point, but still saying it's one of her flaws is kinda too much, from the animation itself, we can see the hammer falls into the ground so it's obvious it can only hit ground enemy just like Rosmontis's attack. On the other hand, Wis'adel 3rd skill is broken and maybe doesn't follow the rules of her archetype, but if we see from the animation, she shoots bullets and they explode, just like normal sniper would do, which makes them can hit air enemies. By all this means, Pepe 2nd skill could've been better if they put something on it, even we know we're probably gonna use her 3rd instead most of the time.
