I love this mag drill. I drilled through 1" steel with the annular cutter. Like butter. Plus it takes 3/4 weldon shank so you can get all kinds of end mills.

I think that center bit is also used to eject the metal inside when done. spring loaded.

bought the same magdrill first hole i tried to make it dropped off the piece i tried to drill and busted the powerlead to the drillhead and took some skin off two of my fingers when i acidently grabbed it by the drill to catch it (5 minutes intoo the job and i was allready bleeding ) was eazy to repair with some solder and schrinktube but i think vevor would do good to move the hole for the powerlead to the side of the tophat facing the handle as i think that would keep it a little more protected when it falls upside down

When I was looking for large chuck mag drills, this one only offered a 1/2" chuck. Do they now come with a 16mm chuck? The whole reason I bought my Milwaukee 4208 was because it offered a 3/4" 3-jaw chuck as well as the 3/4" Weldon.

Doesn't that smaller chuck just go straight into the machine? Wouldn't make sense to have to put it inside the larger chuck..

I bought one of those when my Hougan died and it did 450 5/8 holes in a 5/8 plate for my new fixture table and died a violent smokey death, Vevor replaced it for free and that was cool, their annular cutters are not so accurate but for the money it was great, think it was $180.00 which parts for my Hougan cost that.

I have seen a bunch of Vevor tool reviews and it always seems like there is an issue with missing parts and accessories. Most people like the tools well enough but missing parts you need is really unacceptable. But, in their defense some of the videos Ive seen, Vevor makes it right and gets the missing items sent out.

Unless you specifically need a drill press this will be way more versatile. I have a steel plate with a piece of angle welded to the back, you can put it in a vice a stick this on to works just like a mini drill press.

Answer is, yes. I've got a bench top drill press and after buying and using this, I'd much rather have had this first. (Granted when I bought my drill press, mag drills were $1k +) It's basically a portable drill press. And annular cutters are far quicker and more precise than any twist drill. 9/16 holes in 1/4 plate and it's like you're drilling through wood, so smooth and quick.

i made a vice to my mag drill that's the best thing because you can clamp it to the roll cage and put the drill on it and drill a perfect 90d hole thru the tube. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3nUpZmema2FlZI
