Got a friend who got a breaded from petco kept it in horrible conditions no heat sources fed kibble constantly and guess what it’s body shut down. She had the nerve to blame petco after having the dragon for a year or so. Not to mention how stunted it was for a year old. Now she got an adult dragon from a local family owned business and is doing the exact same thing after ”asking for help" and has plans to breed it. She never listens even though she asks for help then Just does the exact opposite

Hi I’m a veterinarian assistant specializing in exotics. I wanted to clear up the confusion on spaying a bearded dragon. So if a female bearded dragon chronically has egg binding issues spaying is reasonable and will stop this from happening in the future. Most owners do not do this as it’s expensive must be done by a exotics surgeon.

I have a tub that looks *exactly* like the OP’s. I swear-it’s literally just a normal tub (not a jacuzzi one, so w/out jets on the side and stuff-identical to OP’s from what I can see) and it has the pop-outs that form a crack that, in fact, does look like a butt on the bottom of the one side. (plus, it also has small arm rests on either side of the butt, like halfway up on the tub walls) You can kind of see this in the OP’s pic too. I’ve used many tubs in my life. And honestly, this style is definitely more comfortable (particularly due to the armrests within the tub, not necessarily due to the butt crack/popped-up part at the bottom of the tub). It’s barely raised for the butt crack part (maybe raised up an inch or two at most). My theory is that it is intended to be more comfortable than a entirely flat tub bottom and sides. The molding of the butt crack and armrests are intended to be the designated seat side for you (trust-me, tub is not comfortable for two people, unlike other styles-normally without molding). I also think the crack on the seat slopes towards the drain a lil, which allows the seat to drain after a bath as well. Instead of leaving the seat filled with water that takes forever to evaporate if it didn’t have a crack or any way to drain the seat. If you all need more evidence, I can find a way to link photos of it or something. This is so funny to me though because I did not find it strange to see this type of tub since I have been renting this normal suburban house (built in 1999 for reference) for over 3 years, so it is very normal to me!

The butt tub seems to be a walk-in soaking bath, like the ones for older people and people with movement issues. They're the only things that have the plastic wedgie, which is meant to make it so the user can't slip off the seat easily. Still seem like an uncomfortable seat though lol

I literally just had my bearded dragon spayed yesterday! Shes been uncomfortable and glass surfing for months now and put on over 100g. We did xrays in February that showed she was gravid and decided to wait to see if she would lay on her own. She didnt and she seemed really stressed out about the whole process. Meanwhile, I was really stressed out about 1) the toll it would take on her to lay eggs, especially if she had multiple clutches, 2) the potential for her to become eggbound and need more emergent surgery, and 3) the potential for her to rupture an egg/follicle/oviduct and need emergency surgery which may or may not be possible depending on if an exotics vet is available. So, I decided it was worth the money to go ahead and have her spayed while she is healthy before she has any issues since she would be able to recover from surgery more easily. It was $440.00 for the surgery and peace of mind for me. It was worth every penny! It helped that I found a great exotics vet that even let me keep her reproductive tract! So far she is recovering well and enjoyed some juicy dubias this morning! I think spaying them should become more normalized just like with other pets, but since they are exotics people generally dont want to spend the money and time dealing with it. But in my mind once you adopt or take in an animal you owe it to the animal to pay for any and all medical care necessary, doesn't matter what the animal is. My family thinks Im nuts for paying that much for a lizard, but I dont have any qualms about it! She is worth it to me :)

Looks closely at the tub. It’s misshapen. There’s no way it’s a mold otherwise it would be perfectly symmetrical on each side. I think this person took a cheap tub, and molded the plastic themselves with a heat gun.

My tub is shaped similarly. It's wide enough for two people. One per "cheek". The cheeks are raised, the middle part is a canal. Also, I hate it. It's too big and takes too long to fill, not to mention incredibly uncomfortable if you sit in the middle. Hoping for a remodel eventually.

i believe in the canal theory for the bathtub!!!! it’s definitely elevated at the cheeks and canal to canal. i think it’s also slightly angled up to prevent slipping while laying in tub and the canal would help with draining the water out. this would help people who maybe had hip problems or just help with your posture while you’re in the bath? idk just my theory
@peachhoney06122 жыл бұрын
I think I may have found a close second to the butt tub!! It is in fact an elderly walk in tub with a canal and not a ridge like the last comment said lol “Ella's Bubbles Capri 30"x52" Acrylic Walk-In Bathtub, Soaking Tub / “ that’s one I found similar they can even be customized to have jets or drainage holes around the seating area 🙃💀
@Outshined932 жыл бұрын
butt tub: if you look up Hydro Systems Cassi bathtub it answers most of the questions. if you view the spec sheet it shows diagrams of the dimensions from multiple angles. it's designed more like a car seat you sit in than a bathtub you recline in. even looking at clear photos of the Cassi it's hard to tell if the wedgie is a raised wedgie or a cut out between the seats, but if you click customize tub and look at the 3rd view it looks like it's a cutout. in the descriptions it said the Cassi was spacious enough for 2. so i guess the design can be 2 seats for 2 people or 2 cheeks for 1 person

TUB TALK: The home birth tub suggestion is actually a good one since this person might be a midwife who has a home birthing business. Also, having a place to put your feet helps keep a wide position for your legs and a place to push from, I’d imagine this would happen while sitting in the tub. Second theory I support is the mobility bath one since who would take a bath from a 2-3 ft tall chair? That would mean you’d have to fill the tub with more than 3 fts worth of water, that’s a waste of water. Either way, this is by no means an ordinary tub.

About the butt tub Comparing the beardies to the tub I believe this is a costume children tub to keep young children from slipping when they take a bath. Said tub was probably affixed to the house at some point and the current home owner probably decided it should be used for their animals, If not then the inverted porcelain wedgie(which the light actually would sync up with) is the second best theory

The home birth theory for the butt tub works if they are doing a water birth. And if they went through all the trouble of having a tub made for it, the person that owns it probably is a home birth specialist or a dulah/ midwife.

Giving you my school login would be an automatic expulsion. But I could definitely give you a couple of homework assignments and/or exams to try out where I could send an answer key with them. Mostly first-year math and computer science stuff haha

Have you considered that the butt tub might be a jacuzzi or a hot tub? I don’t think it’s a regular bathtub because of the drain placement and I have lived in houses that have hot tubs made out of regular beige bathtub material

Why I'm not getting any reptiles from you? I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic sea.

Why don't I buy your reptiles? I'll love to, but I live in Argentina (southest part of South America), and custom paperwork for a living reptile (IF it arrives alive) does not only sums up to about U$ 2000 (just in tax), but, it's also a bureaucratic nightmare.
