Jab, cross, round kick have been staple for me since day 1. Front/side kick used as a counter to jam the opponent when he moves forward is another one. When I get a bit more comfortable I'll also go for hooks, uppercuts, overhands, hook kick, crescent kick and spinning back/hook kick. Round and front kicks are great because if the opponent steps in you land a knee which is much harder.

I really like combinations like kizami to gyaku-zuki or double gyaku-zuki and mawashi geri (jodan or chudan). Or I'll go for a really quick single attack, like a fast jodan kizami zuki or chudan gyaku-zuki

That's for the helpful video! I find trouble during Kumite to retreat after attacking. I usually have to struggle against my own momentum to go back to neutral distance, and there I am quite an easy target. I thing that what I am doing wrong is use mostly my quadriceps to go back to netrual distance instead of using my calves. It would really love to know how to control the movements in Kumite so that I can attack and retreat as quickly as possible. Probably is not only a matter of strength but also lack of technique. Are there some special drills focused on this issue? Thank you so much!

Try being light on your feet If you commit too hard on a technique and put too much weight on one leg you usually face this issue so I'd say that you should focus on not overextending and try being light on your feet, avoid putting too much weight on one leg during execution of your techniques

As soon as You train all three to level of crushing 2-3 bricks in a row, or break a good showel handle, You can see what Soviet karate actually was. Also for sambo and judo it is 2-3 prime techniques for regular fighter, and 6-8 for high skilled ones - "master of sports" grade and higher, so for your belt You are underdiversified.

what is the standard execution of rear leg chudan mawashi geri for it to score? what should be its zanshin? should the kick go back to the rear leg so it could be scored? usually some judges don't score if the kick falls at the front. Whats your piece on this?

Dear Sir, in possession of several books of Karate from Master Nakayama, I would have expected you as probably a Japanese fighter, to break your teaching down into the classical Sen, Sen-N- sen or Go-no-Sen frame, which is the best orientration for beginners. Or, are they no longer valid? Having spent more than three decades in Karate of various applications, I am, somewhow, sensitive to thew levels of those, who we are talking to. Please, think first and then act, and have your presentation arrangewd to levels of your would-be viewers. Best regards. Paul, 67, retired instructor of Karate.

Hi. I'm SORRY to have to criticize you, but you make big mistakes in the video. You are blatantly confusing technique with tactics. You say you are showing us tactics...where is it? Present tactical concepts, talk about initiatives, even strategic decisions if you want to give correct information. But I assume you have no knowledge of this. You are just showing some technical elements without a concrete tactical foundation. You are way off the martial path and misleading the public.
