Just stumbled upon your channel sir. Have to say, I like that you guys have a happy vibe. Despite some setbacks, I’m glad you guys seem happy. Buko, esp young ones, they are sooo good. For chopping the buko in half, hit it once, then lift it, help it with one hand if needed so it doesn’t fall off, then slam it back to the ground, it’s safer as the blade is already stuck in there

Coconut is very healthy fruit, its called a tree of life because everything in coconut are useful from its stem, leaves, and fruit can be use in different way, very valuable tree. The stem can be use as a lumber to make house and use to cook for food, second the leaves can be use as roofing and broom then third, the fruit can be eaten as a snack specially its juice, it can be use as an oil when process, it can be use as a fertizer, when process it can be use as a rope and there are so many uses for coconut tree.

Hi James, Maita said she thinks that plant was a Cassava. Cassava is a plant that was a staple for indigenous groups in many parts of the world. I learned that from my Anthropology classes when I was young. So I may have to add that to my list of plants that I need to get.
@MyPIDream3 жыл бұрын
Barry, tell Maita thanks but I don't think its cassava because the cassava leaves are like 7 identical leaves and don't web like these. She may be right but we won't know until it grows more. Thanks!

It is not cassave cassava has thinner long leaf, that is one of the poisonous plant that i use the leaves juice to kill mosquitos or to spray my crops to kill bugs. Be careful with that plant and it does grow tsll and it apread its branches really long. It will have green to yellow small fruits that birds qilk sometime eat it and their poops, spead the seeds to any places where they fly and sometimes bitd will not survive the poison

On my last visit to the Philippines I stayed in Angeles City Pampanga in 2019, I had to get new glasses I looked in SM CLARKE and the prices were close to what you stated. But in Angles City they have three or four Opttomatrists almost next to each other, I bought a pair of glasses yes plastic lens with frames same as you have James and I paid Php3250.00 with anti-glare coating and they were ready in 7 days. The cost with the exchange rate at that time was around £37.00 the same here in the UK would be nearer £200.00 but they tell us buy one get one free with the same prescription but could have one pair for normal everyday use and the other as sunglasses. Will I go to the same person as and when I can visit again YES as the cost is the only difference the quality is just as good so more than happy with my purchase. Always great to see your videos until the next one take care and stay safe

Every visit since to PH, I take my personal security extremely seriously. As a westerner , I know we stand out like sore thumbs . As the extended family began to know me more . One brother of my gf informed me that I should be more careful than I was being , as he said there’s a lot of talk sometimes between other Filipinos about robbing a westerner in the province especially if they know where one is staying , and they don’t care what lengths they’ll go to , to take his items of value , as they know the PNP is highly unlikely to apprehend them as no one will tell on them either if they are known . Touch wood , the worst that has happened to me , was being unknowingly pick pocketed in Subic bay of just a few pesos . I know other people that have lost much more including passports
