I was JUST talking to my therapist about perceived colors this week - I also think about it ALL the time. It's wild how we could all perceive the world so differently and there's no way to know. And if you extend that beyond colors, it really helps you have conversations with folks who don't believe the same things as you.

I love you guys so here’s a quick little lesson: Astrology is based off degrees, planets, and stars (including our sun.) Cusps aren’t real and every individual has an entire chart with more than 12 houses, so you’re sun sign isn’t actually a BIG part of your personality it’s just one of the 12 aspects of you’re personality. My friend's friend got a call from THE FBI because it looked like she had burned her fingerprints off (a method people use to escape arrest apparently). The camera focusing and unfocusing is killing my eye sockets 🤣🤣🤣 But also qtips feel so good but are so terrible. I went to the ENT last week from a severe ear infection caused by qtips 😩😩🤣 but like ugh can’t resist

Per the ENT the reason they are dangerous is because the skin in your ear canal is PAPER thin and when you stick a qtip in you rip the skin off, and then dead skin floats around and blocks your ear canal. I’ve been using qtips forever, and at the ent they suctioned it out the dead skin in there disgusting. But yes little fibers come off too, but it’s so bad because it just tears your skin off in your ear canal every time you put a qtip in.

I use q-tips to remove nail polish either off my skin around the nail, or to get the remnants off my nail. I can't stand to touch like cotton balls or cotton pads it feels disgusting. But luckily I don't paint my nails often so they last forever.

39:55 actually in Japan, I’d say that the little “scooper” is used more commonly than q-tips! It’s called “Mimi Kaki” Mimi=Ear and Kaki=scratcher (that’s the closest translation)!! A lot of parents clean their child’s ear with it and even couples do it for each other- it’s almost a sign of “closeness”. BOOST SO COLLEEN SEES THIS!! ❤️❤️

I use Q-tips (well, usually some off brand) for cleaning the inner corner of my eye, exfoliating my lips, cleaning my teeth (in a pinch), and getting that mildly sebaceous shower water off the outer portion of my ear. And of course for getting sebaceous shower water out of the inside of my ear. But I do it pretty carefully and it feels soooo good. I suggest you buy multipacks of Q-tips, that way you don't run out for a long time.

The BEST Braised Short Ribs Ingredients Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 8 beef short ribs (PAT THEM DRY) 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 6 thin slices bacon, diced 2 tablespoons olive oil 3 carrots, diced 2 shallots, finely minced 1 medium onion, diced Splash of red wine 4 cups beef broth (enough to almost cover the ribs) 2 sprigs fresh thyme 2 sprigs fresh rosemary Directions: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Salt and pepper the ribs, then dredge them in the flour. Set aside. In a large Dutch oven, cook the bacon over medium heat until completely crispy and all the fat is rendered. Remove the bacon and set aside. Drain off any excess fat. Add the olive oil to the pan with the bacon fat and raise the heat to high. Brown the ribs on all sides, about 45 seconds per side. Remove the ribs and set aside. Lower the heat to medium. Add the carrots, shallots and onions to the pan and cook for 2 minutes. Splash in the wine and scrape the bottom of the pan to release all the flavorful bits of glory. Add the broth, 1 teaspoon kosher salt and plenty of freshly ground black pepper and bring to a boil. Taste and add more salt if needed. Add the ribs to the liquid; they should be almost completely submerged. Add the thyme and rosemary sprigs (whole) to the liquid. Finally, add the cooked bacon. Put on a lid and transfer to the oven. Cook until the ribs are fork-tender and falling off the bone, 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Remove the pan from the oven and allow to sit for at least 20 minutes with the lid on before serving. At the last minute, skim the fat off the top of the liquid. (You can also refrigerate the mixture, then remove the solid fat from the top.) SERVE OVER MASHED POTATOES OR CHEESE GRITS

OMG! Awesome episode! Laughed my fool head off-Although I felt super bad for Colleen and how terrible she felt! The whole conversation about the Q-tips was hysterical… And I have had that conversation about colors more times than I’d like to admit - I don’t know if it’s actually called this but I call it the “color theory”. Please put your camera in manual focus 😣 if you're concerned about it just make sure your chairs are in the same spot the whole time. If you get up and move don't even worry about re focusing, because it would be a small portion of the cast compared to when your sitting down and talking

I use Q-tips to clean mascara when it touches other areas, to clean up eyeliner if it’s messy, and occasionally for first aid ointment for my daughter if she ever needs it

Colleen and Erik, This by far is my favorite episode ever! It felt like the conversations my husband and I have had so many time! The only Q-tip kind of thing worth buying are the ones with wooden stems. We found them years ago and fell in love.. lol we get them on Amazon now. Also, if you want to up you clean ear game, you can get a pen camera that you use with your phone to be able to see inside of your ear! It's the best! Haha We also got that on Amazon. Also, we are so afraid of Vaginal births because we (I) have only had C-sections I totally understand why you are afraid, Colleen! You will be fine either way, you are so strong! Thanks guys!
