After wearing Rolex watches for nearly 20 years I bought a $500 quartz Chrono and seriously enjoy the superior accuracy and reliability. Build quality for luxury watches are very much overrated especially when the high priced mechanical watches are off by minutes every month

The issue is when you buy watches fast you buy what you like for the moment times however many watches you bought. You need to take your time so as your taste evolves so do your watches.

I have 3 watches (Casioak, F-91W and Zeppelin eurofighter typhoon chronograph) and don't plan on expanding the collection, unless i were to gift one of them to my brother, since he seems to really like one of them (the Eurofighter). If i gift it to him, i will buy the Nodus Avalon II Seaspray White.

Quality > quantity, IMO. A smaller collection of very nice watches to me is much more enjoyable than a large collection of inexpensive watches.

(Raises hand) For me, it wasn't the sheer number of watches that was the issue, just a bit of shiny-new-thing syndrome, combined with just a little horological knowledge...and you know the old saying about a little knowledge. The nice thing - for me, at least - was that the more I learned, the more discerning (fancy word for picky/choosy) I became, and the fever for acquisition began to break. At the moment, I'm working on actually shrinking the collection, mainly three watches that have gotten zero wrist time over the last four years, which will free up funds to take care of two watches which *are* sticking around but are in need of some TLC.

Seriously. You only need 2, 3 at most. 1 beater/for everyday use, 1 for going out, when you want to look fancy, and MAYBE a dive watch. more is just showing off, or you have a problem, or you have too much many to spare. there's only 24 hs in a day, 7 days a week.
