To answer the question around 1:21:06 on why voter turnout was so much higher in Wisconsin & Michigan than Ohio... the former two states were won by Trump in 2016 by margins of 0.8% and 0.2% respectively while the latter was won by a margin of 8%. So obviously there was less reluctance to vote in those two states since it was much more likely to swing than Ohio, which maintained its 8% margin for Trump yet again.

He is correct in that instance though. Courts did rule that the mail in voting law passed by Wolf was unconstitutional but the law gets to remain in place while Wolf appeals the decision. The court ruled that the changes would need to be made via a state constitutional amendment and as the law was made, it is unconstitutional. That decision is now going to the state Supreme Court and it's up in the air how they'll rule. The Commonwealth Court cited a bunch from the Supreme Court in their decision so the Supreme Court will need to go against their own prior decisions or reinterpret their prior decisions to overrule the Commonwealth Court decision. That being said, the Commonwealth Court is 3-2 in favor of Republicans and the Supreme Court is majority Democrat so if politics play a role they'll probably side with Wolf.

Yes, several people are being held without bail in the D.C. Jail for crimes they allegedly committed during the Capitol riots. “But the folks that engaged in the most violent acts, they are being detained without bond.” Which is why people like Julian Khater and George Tanios are still in jail on charges of Assault on Federal Officer with Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Injure an Officer, among others, for allegedly spraying pepper spray into the faces of law enforcement like Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick. Thomas Sibick is being held until his trial without bond on charges that include Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers and Taking from a Person Anything of Value by Force and Violence, because he’s accused of being part of the savage attack on DC Police Officer Mike Fanone and ripping Fanone’s badge and radio right off his uniform. A number of the Proud Boys militia, and even an Oath Keeper named Jessica Watkins, have also been denied pre-trial release, not because they assaulted police, but because they are charged with conspiracy with other members of their militias to pre-plan the attack on the Capitol. So we can Verify, yes, some people arrested for crimes on January 6th are still being held in jail without bail, all of which are being housed at the D.C. Jail. People that have been charged / released for big crimes: Robert Scott Palmer: 63 months in prison pleaded guilty in October to assaulting law enforcement officers with a dangerous weapon. @@aerotorc The entire point of the discourse is centered around arrest dates versus indictment dates, which colksetrel conveniently leaves out. If a person is held for more than 48 hours without being formally charged, or if there isn't an initial determination from a judge that probable cause is enough to detain the person for longer, then whatever government body that is detaining that person has the legal obligation to set them loose. Every. Single. Time. The overwhelming majority of these people, with a very quick google search, either don't have their arrest dates public(which is immediate cause for concern and usually indicative of illegal detainment) or show at least a month and up to a year gap between being arrested and being formally indicted. The only exceptions I could find were the people arrested on 1/6 for assault, but even a handful of those far exceeded the 48 hour window and went up to a week. If you would have taken your own advice instead of lying, you would have known this. :) I'm not implying that these detentions are unlawful. They're irrefutably unlawful, and every single legal jurisdiction that has integrity would have thrown the overwhelming majority of these cases out because it opens the FBI and any presiding judge up to a harassment/kidnapping lawsuit.

No regard for the truth of the situation. You want it to be one way but it's the other way. Your 1 in 1,000 analogy is utter nonsense. Many of these people weren't just in an area they weren't supposed to be. They ignored or overtook law enforcement and broke into the building by force. 140 cops were injured. Almost 900 people have been charged at this point. - Over 200 people with charges related to violence and/or assault. - 60+ with destruction of property. - 40+ with theft. - 59 with conspiracy. Around 80 of those charges involved a weapon. There are several other charges I didn't list and of course there are more charges to come. They're not even charging everyone who simply entered the building, much less anyone who was just on the grounds. Several of the people they did charge with trespassing alone are getting deferred prosecution which is like probation that ends in a dismissal with no jail time if the conditions are met. They're not throwing the book at them. All this data is readily available from the DOJ. Search DOJ Capitol Breach Cases and it should be the first result. 57:00 - I've heard of those cases, I believe those were Republican filings in Pennsylvania challenging the legitimacy of how the mail-in ballot procedures were implemented. The specifics are that Pennsylvania's Democrat-run Supreme Court allowed counties in the state to count mail-in ballots for up to 3 days after election day if they were postmarked, presumably due to their local postal services' delays. That was one of the many cases filed by the Republican state legislature. The matter was escalated to SCOTUS after the election, and as this was not long after RBG died but before ACB was added, and the decision ended on a rare 4-4 split. Justices Thomas and Alito wrote dissents. Snippets from both: Thomas: "One wonders what this Court waits for. We failed to settle this dispute before the election, and thus provide clear rules. Now we again fail to provide clear rules for future elections. The decision to leave election law hidden beneath a shroud of doubt is baffling. By doing nothing, we invite further confusion and erosion of voter confidence. Our fellow citizens deserve better and expect more of us. I respectfully dissent." Alito: "The provisions of the Federal Constitution conferring on state legislatures, not state courts, the authority to make rules governing federal elections would be meaningless if a state court could override the rules adopted by the legislature simply by claiming that a state constitutional provision gave the courts the authority to make whatever rules it thought appropriate for the conduct of a fair election."

"You're doing a logical fallacy, a reductio ad absurdium." So, a reductio isn't a logical fallacy. What it is, is a method of analysis. Wherein you take an argument, take it to its logical conclusion, and via the absurdity of the conclusion, we can detect that there is something faulty about the reasoning. If what you say is true, then that means X. X is not true, so what you say must be false.

I don't understand why Sean is saying that we need a charge for someone to turn informant. It really depends on how fast someone flips. If the feds make a strong enough argument for Epps to turn, they might not need to file charges. If Epps didn't want to cooperate then they'd file the charges to apply pressure and follow through if he didn't crack. If he was cooperative right off the bat, they wouldn't file them at all. For them it's actually preferable to not file the charges because they can always go back and prosecute later if Epps fails to keep his end of the bargain. I really don't understand why Sean thinks that because there were no charges that Epps couldn't have turned informant, that's honestly a strange argument.
@mikecurry68472 жыл бұрын
Also not every informant shows up in court. If they keep his status as an informant unknown then he could get more information in the future. An informant doesn't have to testify in court either. Epps can just point the feds at people they want to bust more than Epps himself. We don't know if he turned informant but we also don't have anything that says he for sure didn't

Whoever thought having 10 people in a call was a good idea, I am quite concerned for you.

TBF that stream was advertised as a shitshow with too many people on at once, I'm surprised it didn't get messier

It was their 200th podcast episode, and they basically invited a half years worth of guests for like a 10 hour stream. They were not doing strict moderation either. And none of them do panel shows regularly.

They basically entrapped him when they let him in when the other guy was leaving. Also the guy started with you "seem upset".

@Pipeman0072 жыл бұрын
@@TeecueDee they know he's a Fed but they don't want to address it because it blow up their whole argument

That was an insane amount of ridiculous claims, being called out and forced to walk it back then making more claims with no proof.
