I actually really needed to hear that “less is more” mindset. I’m starting my scientific career while also growing my KZbin and Substack so I’ve had soooo many ideas. I then had the brilliant idea to ALSO bump up to 2 weekly videos on KZbin and lowkey started burning myself out this month trying to do every single thing 😅 I’ve simplified my approach and can literally feel my shoulders backing away from hugging my ears

I don’t work a 9 to 5 job but I’m a stay at home mom so I’m pretty much working all around the clock lol especially at times like this when my husband is overseas for work (military). I don’t have a dedicated mom channel so I’m generally doing most of my content around my kids’ schedules. Your advice has been so helpful! Thank you so much for what you do, girl. Love it here. 🫶🏾

I work 9-5, single mom and have a small business. What helps me is weekly to do lists.. i do the same things over and over every week. For my small business, i can only manage to do a reel a week. The rest of my focus is on my 9-5 and home life. And the batching energy is so true.

Tess, I needed this entire video! Thank you! I work a 9-5 as a therapist but I am also personal branding as a therapist, writer, and speaker on socials. I had to start over on IG due to my first account getting compromised. I realized that I feel burnt out on IG even though I like the app. But I feel so boxed in on IG as I have a lot to say. And I have been gravitating to creating more long form content. I seem to have more audiences on LinkedIn and KZbin. I needed what you said about testing things out and not pushing yourself too hard. It’s okay to not post 24/7.

When you mention the desperate energy that some people give off when they're all in on content creation, it's definitely palpable. I notice many influencers hem and haw, saying umm and pausing a lot, before the sell. It's hard to watch.

love your videos! I found them recently and they have been helping me organize my thoughts and feelings towards growing my social media a lot! the cringe from co-workers is sooo real! I try to control myself and turn it into an opportunity to get constructive criticism or just simply feedback "thanks for supporting my work. what kind of videos do you like and I should make more?" it's almost like a business meeting haha girl, I have been doing the social media game for a LONG time. it's been 8 years since I started posting on instagram as a fashion account and the growth has been ridiculously slowwwww. These past 5 years I have been taking it very seriously and still no results. I post everyday, I focus on instagram, youtube and tiktok. I keep learning about the best ways to do it (hashtags, stories, reels, etc) but nothing really does a difference. So I'm thinking it must be the content itself...but that is harder to evaluate myself, specially without destroying all my self confidence at once. Any suggestions?
@TessBarclay6 күн бұрын
Ah thank you so much, I'm so glad!! 🥹 The co-worker cringe is SO real! I would throw in your content to ChatGPT & ask if there's any suggestions while explaining your vision/mission for content and your brand!
